  The Palamides system is centered around a yellow sun, and consists of a burning world closest to the star, a habitable world in the closer side of the goldilocks zone, a gas giant with two barren moons, and an icy planet made of methane ice furthest from the sun.   The inhabited world is undergoing a fierce civil war as a patchwork of factions all vie for control of the planet. The former world government fell or were overthrown in the wake of The Scream, and no clear replacement has emerged in the years of struggle since.   The remnants of the military faction on the planet have established tenuous off world contact through a network of decaying communicatons satellites.   In April 2670, CBSS agent Mikhail Yehorovych Nikolchenko visited the planet during a trade mission and after a difficult landing was able to meet with both the heads of the military junta, and the civilian faction that were both in heated combat over the fate of their planet. The dispute arose from the reforms promised by the junta, and the lack of progress reached as the years since The Scream dragged on. After missing several important milestones the people rose up into their own fighting force and fought the junta across the island chains and reef islands of Palamides.   A summit between both leaders was conducted in space aboard Mikhail Yehorovych Nikolchenko's ship, the Blacksea Horse, and the terms agreed upon, delivered through the CBSS intermediary were accepted by both factions. A provisional government has been set into place made up of members from both factions. Peace on this planet is fragile.
