Orion Pattern Personal Resonator Belt
A technical treatise, written by Dr. Jasper Artemis
Living is difficult on Saliv due to the Raw Metaspace currents that surround and permeate the planet. Benign mutations are the least concerns of those exposed to the Breach unprotected by an Arcane Resonator, but those can only be built so big and project a field so large. Saliv will never truly be completely stabilized, and areas always unprotected.
To combat this the Inheritor Alliance set out to develop personal resonators. Pioneered by Lance Bottas and Orion Oksana based on a design captured from the Gamma Cult and other relics found by Inheritors they created the Orion Pattern Personal Resonator Belt, or more commonly Orion belts.
The Orion Pattern Personal Resonator Belt projects a personal bubble of Real-Space around an individual protecting them from passive breach waves but proves ineffective against an active breach.
Much like it’s much larger sibling the Arcane Resonator, Orion Belts need to be actively dialed to align with the local metaspace frequency and are equipped with emergency preservation bubbles deigned to deflect the worst of the transformational energies if an individual unfortunately finds themselves near an active Null-breach.
Many Inheritors can be seen still wearing their Orion Belts while in the safety of the Arcane Resonators or while off world, this could possibly be because they find comfort in keeping it nearby or possibly out of habit, but reasons would differ from Inheritor to Inheritor.
Orion Belts are given fairly freely to Inheritors that are assigned to jobs in the wilds such as reclamation and scouting but are rarely seen in the hands of off worlders. Obtaining one would require to earn the trust of the Inheritor Alliance and pay the cost of the Arcanotech components as the formulas are a closely guarded Alliance secret.
It is currently unknown if the Orion Pattern Personal Resonator Belts have any function outside the world of Saliv, but as more Inheritors venture off world and as the trusted few get their hands on this device more research can be done.
