Old Man's Beard

Old Man's Beard is the name given to a species of moss that grows on the planet Etxaurren. This moss grows on the trunk so large waterlogged trees in the inland forest and lakes region of the planet that is claimed by the planet's Piggen population. There are rumored to be other small groves of it in remote places of the arid planet. It was first discovered by a Noctua named Moff Cvk-Tarilli working on behalf of both the Exchange of Light and the Elysium Protectorate.   Old Man's Beard is a versitile plant. It can be boiled to make a disease fighting tea, mashed and combined with wax to create an antiseptic salve, and also has a slight numbing property to it when ingested or put into contact with soft tissue like skin. The effect seems to be the same for both Human and Piggen.   This moss has never been tested or experimented with using modern manufacturing methods but it is thought that it can be rendered into more effective medicine if selectively bred for active ingredient purity.
