Natural Gas
Natural Gas formed in the Iron Stars is formed much the same way natural gas is formed anywhere else, the lush grasslands have been the graveyards of millions of beasts, and since the planet's ecosystem began, their bodies have rotted away into the fuel needed to power today's needs.
It is seen as a preferable hydrocarbon to coal, but not all worlds are blessed with the conditions needed to form the rich natural gas pockets required.
