  The Monkori system consists of a red dwarf at the system heart, orbited by a molten planet, an inhabited planet, and a gas giant.
  The inhabited planet is a wasteland with just a few thin green strips of vegetation. The wasteland varies between silicate sand, deep ash, and flash fried trees. Radiation pockets in many parts of the planet appear as bright blooms on scanners to any ships in orbit. The locals live in scattered mountain hamlets, wasteland fortresses around scarce pockets of clean water, or underground shelters.
  The amount of radiation in the atmosphere makes it impossible to communicate with the surface from space.
  In the mountainous area to the south of the planet the locals met the Inheritor Alliance explorer Xiloco. The Alliance arrived during a time where the locals were working on a generational project restoring a complex cable car network from their mountaintop village to the abandoned villages on the peaks above their own. Their project was given a large push forward and verification that their goal was worth the effort was also provided by the explorer, thanks to the help of their advanced starship.
