  Mikas is an arid world just far enough from its sun to support life. It has a swamp covered moon, and a second moon that is barren. There is a gas giant in the system.   Strange energy readings toward the center of the planet show a place where the jump gate that used to occupy the system crashed into the planet. Most of the superstructure sheared away, but enough of it was left to keep the connection open.   Rather than connect to another point in this universe , the jump gate now connects to a hellish region where creatures from the other side frequently come through. Fortified towns and small holdfasts populate the planet's surface, doing what they can to fend off the large creatures, and making intelligent use of every part of those they're able to bring down.   A Greystar agent named Rogan once landed on the planet and engaged the locals in a series of hunger-games like contests to try to secure mateiral aid, acting against the orders of his polity, and was subsequently killed by the locals for it. Their distrust of outsiders is slowly dispelling as Greystar has since made consistent official outreach to them and have provided aid without the previous constraints.   Of all the cities on the planet, Kaijadomo is the wildest and made from the most reclaimed pieces from monsters. The others are slowly being degraded as continued attacks wear down their defenses.
