Mayor Fyodorova Ekaterina Artemievna (Katya)

Eloquent, Pragmatic, Industrious.   In the waning years of the Great War, a number of noble houses upon the sovereign world of Novyy Sovoro found themselves at the mercy of various enterprising factions abusing the chaos to seize control of the planet's lucrative assets; the Tenebrian Empire required all loyal citizens to aid the war effort, and the Black Sun aggressively pursued the liberation of Imperial holdings. The minor House Artemievna was one such target; the translucent liquid produced in their karasyne fields could be processed into a potent starship fuel, and with the loss of the shrewd Lord Vasily Artemievna some years previous the holding seemed to be easy pickings in the eyes of the Empire and the Black Sun both. This assessment proved incorrect.   Lord Vasily's son and heir, the astute young Nikolay had inherited his late father's business acumen as well as his estate, and his judicious planning, coupled with his younger sister Fyodorova's silvertounged aptitude in diplomacy kept the Artemievna reservoirs firmly in the family's control. Indeed, the siblings worked so well together that several deals were brokered which promised to ensure the House greater prosperity than it had seen in several generations. Fyodorova lived happily, safe in the knowledge that her future was secure. This assessment proved incorrect.   As she journeyed home from another successful negotiation, Fyodorova was accosted by a group of agents working for the sector-spanning Hardlight Syndicate. After politely but firmly being escorted to a corp owned facility, the young scion was informed of her House's current situation; the Artemievna family owed a substantial amount of money to various Hardlight subsidiaries, their karasyne fields were now owned entirely by the Syndicate, and that her brother was missing, fled into the stars with his misappropriated wealth, the Syndicate claimed. After reeling from this rapid shift in circumstances, Fyodorova rallied impressively and began discussing terms of repayment. Negotiations raged for three full days, and finally an agreement was reached involving the dissolution of House Artemievna, the forfeiture of all remaining equity and a debt of duty owed to the timely Greenbriar corporation.   Fyodorova Ekaterina Artemievna, taking the name Katya, walked away from the Hardlight Syndicate offices and directly on to a Greenbriar colony ship with two clear goals. Firstly, she would find her brother, she would have him explain what happened, then she would embrace him or knock him out depending on her mood. Perhaps both, it remained to be seen. Secondly, she would see her House restored, and lead it to even greater prosperity than before. But for now there was a debt to be paid, and she was nearly arrived at Gudrun...   After nearly a year of tireless work, eventually rising to the position of Acting Director of Colonial Development, Katya was given even more opportunity, now mayor of the Slyth Rebirth Installation in the central region of the planet. Far from colonial intervention, she begins to plan.
