Initial Survey

LXD195021 is a black hole and the site of a major fleet operation undertaken by the Chimeran Ascendency. Two Peerless Class platforms watch the spike lane approaches to Uloth, and also serve as replenishment and repair hubs for the growing polity. A large ship construction operation is underway here and the shipyards look capable of producing the heaviest displacement ships by current construction standards.    A pair of cruisers and six destroyers watch over the infrastructure here. A host of mining ships work the asteroids and debris caught by the black hole, keeping the industry supplied with local materials as much as possible.    A pair of battleships are under construction here but it looks to be early on in their construction process.  

The Battle of LXD 195021

In late 2669 the Greystar Confederation recognized the rising threat of the Chimeran Ascendency and sent covert teams to delay battleship construction for as long as possible, attacking both shipyards. Their smugglers were captured in the process.   In November 2669 a combined Greystar Confederation, Void Wardens, and New Moon Cooperative fleet sacked the system. Fierce boarding actions characterized the battles, with the New Moon Cooperative suffering 40% of their marine casualties in wresting the first of the capital ships from their Chimeran former owners.   A Greystar and Void Warden strike team captured the other, rescuing the imprisoned smugglers in the process. Though they had been badly tortured, they were stabilized and shipped back to the Confederation.   Both capital ships and a captured Free Merchant vessel now sail in Iron Stars Federation fleets.
