Polychronlou's primary is registered in Mandate astrographic records as AA-556, a class G star known simply as “the sun” to natives. Aside from Polychronlou itself, the system has two significant gas giants, Titania and Oberon, and numerous small rocky planetoids in eccentric orbits. There are no other remotely habitable planets in the system. Space traffic is limited to small mining operations in the system asteroid belt and a station in geosynchronous orbit above the Warrens. Contact with other systems exists but is limited; details of the spike drive course necessary to reach Polychronlou are closely guarded by the few captains known to possess them.   Visitors to Polychronlou are strongly advised to follow all protocols regarding avoidance of the local atmosphere. While breathable, a persistent alien bioweapon has contaminated Polychronlou's atmosphere with a pathogen capable of killing an unprotected human in minutes. The pathogen particulate is remarkably invasive, and vacc suits and vehicle seals are not guaranteed to withstand prolonged exposure.   In early 2669, a New Moon Cooperative explorer named Horatio landed his spike capable ship at Amana Lin spaceport on the surface and was promptly killed through gang violence after an ill advised no-knock raid on a well known gang hideout. With the spike ship in the spaceport and no captain, the crew had no problems accepting an insanely lucerative bribe to transport the Polychrome comany executives off planet- along with their immediate families.
Icarus Industries was left behind as punishment for their failure to develop an indegenous spike drive, and now have been forced to ally with the Stained Freedom Front resistance movement. Gang violence still ravages the city outside the handful of districts the group co-maintains.   Since the exodus of corporate, several different groups have waged war for supremacy over the underground city of Polychrome. No one is yet sure the cause, but in late 2669 it seems that the fighting on the planet has begun to wane, and something resembling public order is reasserting itself.   In early 2670 the planet was renamed Libertalia. An exhausting period of social reform, exploration, and civil service spearheaded by Ian Holt, Fearghal Mac Tir, and Harbormaster Zorcash have transformed the planet from a corporate ruled dystopia, to a hidden freeport where most are welcome.
