  Kamal is a prison world formerly used by the New Moon Cooperative as a prison planet for all the law breakers across its vast territories. An orbital station experimenting on Shaper Red Trees kept the planet from being cleansed by the advancing Shaper horde.   It has become apparent that the prisoners are now in control of the major sites on the planet below, though some prisons have also been reduced to ruins during whatever events happened between the main NMC withdrawal and events now.   The Void Wardens arrived at Kamal in March 2668, and a deal was made to transport the low/no security risk prisoners deeper into New Moon Cooperative space where they could be reunited with surviving family and cared for.    Thus far the maximum security prison has not been negotiated with or interreacted with at all.   As of March 2670, Kamal has existed as an independent and forgotten world as former prisoners try to make a living, far from the polity that imprisoned them.
