Jaxtonite
First discovered on Gudrun by Jaxton Ryder and Franz Herzinov, these strange crystals were found to conduct electricity and other forms of energy very efficiently.
Further research was conducted by Valerina Perez of the United Nations of Worlds science divison months later. Through a series of exhausting tests, it was determined that the mineral is a superconductor, and specifications were sent to the fabricators for a test batch of wire using the new mineral.
The completed wires allowed energy transmission to occur with very little loss, and it was not long before most UNW worlds clamored to have their own power infrastructure made out of the material.
It has not been found on surveys on other inhabited planets. Yet.
