  The Ialmenos system has a yellow star at the system heart. The star burns near the hottest range this type of star can burn at, an anomoly in this sector.   The system consists of a molten world close to the star, an inhabited planet with a desert moon, and a swirling cloud of cosmic vapor at the system edge. The inhabited system sits close to the star and the surface is very dry. The few inhabited places on the surface consist of domed cities and networks of moisture traps built on rocky shelves above the arid badlands.   A crude network of communication satellites in orbit allow communication between the scattered planetary settlements. Intercepted communications also mention a lake of tar, cults to some sort of fire bird, and skirmishes between the locals with children playing a leading role both in the politics and warfare of the region.
