Draft 1: UNW Articles of Confederation Article 1: Representative Bodies

The Body Populace

The UNW shall be comprised of 2 legislative bodies: A Body of Populace and a Body of World’s. The Body Populace shall be a greater body; having its members vote for the members on the Body of Worlds.

The Body Populace will contain representatives of each faction homeworld based on populations and homeworld dynamics, though representatives should not exceed 9 per world.

The Body of Worlds

The Body of Worlds will be comprised of 1 elected official per world, voted on by the Body Populace of each world. (Term limits for each body currently set at 2 terms of 5 years each.)   Article 2: UNW Bill Of Rights No Member or member citizen may be Sold or Indentured No Member or member citizen may have their Right to Free Speech Denied No Member or member citizen may have their Life or Property Taken from them without due process of Law" "These rights apply to planets and the nations and individuals composing them."   Article 3: UNW Central Location The UNW Shall be located at yet unidentified nuetral and unoccupied space central to the UNW Member Worlds. Construction of a UNW Station, complete with mobile shipyard to be constructed, begining upon signing and founding.   Article 4: UNW Navy The UNW will levy a unified force from the member worlds to serve as a joint defensive body to defend any member world, should the need arise. The Navy shall also be used in times of war as dictated by the Body of Worlds.   The UNW Army is a defensive force in nature, and will only engage in offensive wars with a majority council vote. Letters of marquee may be issued to private parties, with renewal left up to a council decision.   Article 5: Trade Powers Member Worlds are free to set their own trade friction, but are expected to keep trade open to other member states.
