  A desert world that has been stripped of all life. Elkano was one of the worlds first found that had been cleansed by Fleshaper continental organic dragnets.   The only landmark on the surface is the Templum Mortis, constructed by the Shapers from the bones of the planet's dead. Inside, a seed for a Red Tree was found and destroyed by a United Nations of Worlds exploration team.   The world remained barren until April 2668 when Daitrij of the Protectorate and the United Nations of Worlds came to an agreement to relocate a race of primitive spider like aliens there. They would either terraform the planet on their own , or would subsist on Paragons of the Light sponsored supply drops. Their proto language is indecipherable for all but the most skilled linguists. This culture has made its home around the temple, trying to reclaim this cursed area so it can be turned to a brighter future.   In mid 2670 a United Nations of Worlds Explorer named Drayis visited the ruins of Elkano and discovered that some of its inhabitants had escaped the Fleshshaper invasion, fleeing galactic north. Some of the escapees were thought to be psionic, based on evidence they left behind. Drayis has continued following their trail from Elkano, but has not been heard from again.
