Electrum
Electrum is a mineral first found by August, a Greystar Navy pilot and later ship commander during a routine patrol of the Pittheus-94 black hole system. A large highly compacted fragment of metal was found spinning freely outside the event horizon of the black hole and was quickly brought aboard his ship for later study.
The sample would sit in storage until August 2668 when Natalia Toivonen completed catalogue and study of the compacted sample. Most of the metallics along the outside were known elements already, but the core was a new alloy only possible with the immense heat and pressure of a black hole.
Electrum is a non-conductive, dense, glossy black material that resembles an oil stain in solid form. It is incredibly hard, and very durable.
