Desmond O'Shea

Description:    Desmond is 1.8 meters tall( 5'9") slight of build with electric blue eyes and black hair. His face seems slightly pockmarked and he has a mustache with a soul patch. He wears a burgundy trench coat and short brimmed hat. He used to walk with a limp and suffer from terrible headaches from his previous injuries but after working a joint case with the Greystar Combine they arranged to have his eyes and limbs cybernetically enhanced.   Known Bio:   Detective Desmond O'Shea worked for a police force with Jered N'Cabe on the arcane night world of Acastus but his 15 year career was cut short after being shot numerous times taking in custody a Shadow Cult assassin called the "Cobalt Killer". Desmond suffered Traumatic Brain Injury and his wounds were not treatable by his low tech world. He lay in a coma. The Still Lady Shadow Cult then killed his wife Drina in retribution. The Acasta Planetary Council ordered Desmond be placed in a cryochamber and sent to a new colony which needed experienced law enforcement and had the medical technology to save him. He was revived by Greenbriar and put to work by Franz.   He became a Colonial Marshall as a way to make a living and still help people out. He investigated murders, smuggling and hate crimes. He met Lt. Cassandra Mcilroy, Seung Witaker when taking on Pirates. He also rescued his former partner Jered who had been working undercover since the Scream. He has also worked with Silvano Mazzio, Melora, Herb and fellow Marshal Arimoto. After these missions Franz promoted him to head of the Marshall Service.   He fought TriGreen on the planet Allah for their butchering of the Jedamane with Herb and Red Sangha. Three Jadamane joined the Marshal Service from this mission.   Desmond recently hired veteran law officer Marcion Delgato to be a full fledged Marshal. He also Captained the Marshal Torpedo Ship "Lone Star" assisting Phoenix Command against the Remanent in the Battle of Rawhani. He rescued Cyrus who was injured and blown into space because of a Remanent booby trap after the battle.   He brought evidence and testified in the Trial of Malak in front of Judge Ibrahim Majeed al-Mansoor. He explored the Rahwani Wastes and led a Rescue Mission with Melora and Kaleb Draconis. They ended up airlifting over 10,000 citizens from the clutches of the Corporations.   He investigated the savage human sacrifice by the Still Lady Shadow Cult that Billy Rigers uncovered. Billy and him later encountered a manifestation of the Still Lady investigating one of the cults Exodus Ships which are trying to expand the cult.   Desmond founded a Forward Base on Aslief with the assistance of Commander Cole after delivering UNW Arms to the planet from Greenbriar. He recruited 5 Marshals on the planet. Later Cyrus Adonis worked with them to oversee Aslief's first democratic elections. Desmond, along with Cyrus, convinced Commander Cole to stand up against the Aslief city of Cove Neck that burned the ballots and declared Martial Law after the vote didn't go their way.   He went on a Recon Mission to Acastus with Billy RIgers and Dr. Camilla Thorn. They encountered and surveyed the ocean planet Halia and the sun busting weapon planet Shua. They landed on Acastus and dealt some blows to the Still Lady's Cult and made connections with the Resistance. Billy's cursed crew member Devnoc was left with those who knew how to deal with eldritch phenomenon.   He and Marcio then caught Silvano stealing a stealth suit from Marshal Wind. Silvano is now wanted for questioning. Desmond participated in an attack on an Arctic Camp against the Taros First League with Cyrus, Seung, Hailey and Christopher. They took the Arctic Camp and ended up on the roof of its fortress tower that was damaged and getting ready to fall. The Lone Star swooped in carried them off with prisoners.     Desmond then went in Deep Space exploring for cultist Exodus Ships on the Lone Star with Marshal Nancy Chu. They came upon a damaged cryogenic Arc carrying refugees from Elkano.They had been attacked by the Fleshshapers and were hours away from losing their lives. Desmond rigged a way to siphon power off the Lone Star to keep the survivors arrived and called for a Rescue Mission from Gudrun. The ship limped into Gudrun and the grateful crew donated their ships power plant to Marcion Delgado's new Marshal HQ.     Desmond assisted Marshal Marcion Delgato as he protected a peace summit on Gudrun against the Taros First League. They both were wounded badly, being hit by enemy fire and getting partially caught by a mortar attack from a Mech. After destroying the Mech, President Kincaid was saved as were the other delegates. An agreement was reached. Bladonna was re-integrated, and the ministers stepped down from their positions. The Black Phalanx was dispatched to Bladonna to ensure they surrender to UNW custody.   Meltis was reinstated as the leader of Bladonna, and the planet will be scoured of any trace of the Taros First League.   Desmond competed in the First Maze Game Show put on by Hailey Clements. He than ran a mission with Hailey and Billy to supply and support the resistance against the Still Lady Cult on his home world of Acastus.   Desmond then took a UNW bounty to find confirmation that the mega-shipyard had moved from Khulk, and what conditions on the planet are like.   On the way there he passed Aslief where the Marshals based there found ballots being burned in Cove City, after they had overseen an election. The Cove City Council felt that Commander Cole had betrayed them. Desmond wanted to bring charges against those who were attacking the elections but Commander Cole decided to leave the planet. Reluctantly Desmond left. Cole left Aslief and went to stay with Cyrus.   Desmond then participated in a Space Battle with the Remnant. Under the Command of Lord Admiral Billy RIgers he, Cornelius Hardt, Calidorius Odenburg, Ricardo Morris, and Robert Tanzer were victorious. The battle over, Desmond reluctantly took up the bounty, but doubts about his wife's murder, the cult on Acastus and the recent wars he has fought in still plagued him.   He went with Regulus Fate, Billy Rigers and Dax Withers to Acastus for a raid on a Cultist Compound. While they defeated a Shadow Creature and did much damage to the Cult, Regulus died. Regulus then appeared to them in a psychic vision which empowered them to fight the Still Lady. He revealed that the Still Lady had the spirit of his dead wife Drina enthralled to her. Desmond is expanding the Marshals to deal with this threat.   He went back to Acastus, investigating the origins of the Still Lady, and found that there are currently three (leaders) Magisters that serve her, the Hanged Man, Whisper, and the Changeling. Desmond has brought this information back to UNW space and landed back on Gudrun.   On his return the UNW then decided to link their Intelligence service with the Marshals. It is now a a division within the Marshals called the United Intelligence Unit. Franz chose Marshal Marcion Delgato to oversee it. Ricardo Morris was the first to join the new special forces unit.   Desmond worked with Hailey Clements on a fundraiser for the Psionic Academy in honor of Regulus, whose death he had witnessed on Acastus. Hailey had call in banks and broadcast it to the UNW.   Desmond went back to Acastus with Billy, Hailey and Dax. They attacked a bank of Breaker Guns while leading the Rebels on an attack into Ash City itself. Desmond fell in the battle but Hailey in her mighty Mech Suit, Dax with his glowing sword and Billy with his Engineers and energetic leadership freed Acastus and slew the Sill Lady.   Desmond appeared once more during the final banishment of the Scream Beast, once again rising in the defense of his friends and allies even beyond death.
