  Astinoos is a system with just a single habitable world and a small asteroid field between it and the system sun.   The inhabited planet is a temperate world with a healthy ecosystem. A strange research project was conducted on the planet where all forms of life were fed into some kind of recovered alien field generating module. Life force was pulled from those fed into the machine and it has been projected to cover the entire planet in some kind of impenetrable field, except for a small breach directly over the facility.   This facility was first visited by Dax Withers and Headmaster Regulus Fate, and upon understanding the vile nature of the work done here the records and equipment were destroyed as much as possible. The field remained in place, though no one will ever be able to replicate the horrific nature of what was done here.   Greystar Confederacy agent Helbi returned to Astinoos years later, and found nothing but empty settlements littered with propoganda pamphlets promising locals they would be safe from the incoming Shaper warhost if they journeyed to the research center.   The field remains, protecting a green but empty world from the outside universe.
