Against The Still Lady
Our rifles are heavy
But our sleeping bags warm
The tents keep us dry
From the gathering storm
The guns are now silent
The dead now cremated
We were here for the War
While the Peace has just waited
Our families are home
Far away from this place
They want our return
And pray for salvation and grace
Our Duty kept us
On the front lines
To spare our families
From the Still Lady’s crimes
Hailey, Billy and Dax our Heroes True
Desmond, Regulus now Honored Dead
Their blood and ours spilled
To keep Freedom’s Tree Fed
So we will stay on
Till we’re done with the fight
Knowing our homes
Soon will be in sight
A common marching song by Acastus rebels, made famous especially the Vendric Solestein resistance movement. This was commonly sung or hummed during evening rest when the enemy was thought to be far away.
