Hastily crafted for Bonnie, Sting has a few unusual properties designed to make the most of Bonnie's skills and limitations.

Unlike most slings, Sting applies one's Dexterity modifier to damage rolls.
You can fire, but not load, a sling with one hand. Loading a sling is a move action that requires two hands and provokes attacks of opportunity.
Its unique folding mechanism allows you to wield a secondary weapon or two handed-weapon, but you cannot wield a shield or buckler in addition to this.
You can hurl ordinary stones with a sling, but stones are not as dense or as round as bullets. When attacking with stones, you take a –1 penalty on attack rolls and damage rolls as the irreggular shape of stones does not allow for prescision shooting.
If a divine caster pulls back the sling without loadingammunition, she can instead fire a small missile of healing at a target, amounting to 1d4 plus her casting modifier.
