The Blessed Lady of the Lake (haiku)

"Blessed Be Her Beauty
Turquoise Upon The Waters
Giving Our Hearts Joy"
Common prayer near the Golden Lake
Scholars noted during the third Expansion of the Empire of Storvia that the culture of the Lakefolk was ingrained with a deep belief in a deity known simply as the Lady of the Lake. The local populace is convinced that she is a Fey Queen that resides in the depths of the Golden Lake and controls the floodings that provide nutrients for the farmers crops. Although no sightings has been reported of this "faerie", there have been multiple reports that whole villages suddenly became "Blessed by the Lady". These reports include odd notes that the populace started grinning uncontrollably in the face of investigators as their crops started growing exponentially (even during the middle of harsh winters). The investigator also noted that pregnancies seemed to skyrocket during these periods as well as mysterious disappearances of the village's youngest daughters. When the village elder was asked about these disappearances, the elder simply remarked that it was "the Price we must Pay" and shrugged it off.
