Bilga

Most of the time of the year, Bilga is but a small hamlet located north of Bjorkadir and inhabited by a few dozen people. However, during the summer the place becomes a hub of activity as Bilga is the site of the annually Thing where every prominent member of society meets to discuss legal disputes, the state of the kingdom and perform various social and religious activities. During the Thing, the countryside around Bilga is full of tents in every color and people from all parts of Lofenia meet.   Bilga is located beside the Sapphire Lake, a large crystal-blue body of water that emits a bluish light during the night. The Wilderwood Seat sits on a small hill next to Bilga and the Sapphire Lake wherefrom the King sits and oversees discussions of meetings for the Council of Jarls. Additionally, the Wilderwood Seat is also the location where most religious ceremonies of the Thing are performed and where the ritualistic event of the Crowning of the King is performed as well.   The Thing lasts 2 weeks and ends with the Fall Ceremony where the priests pray for a bountiful harvest and a short mild winter. During the Thing, many events take place such as weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies, and tournaments.
