After Den, the Marked Ones decided to travel to Azul by boat. On the way there they were ambushed by a demon who identified himself as the Black Hand, aided by Torch and Reiko, two enemies the group had made in Akek. Sarva died trying to prevent Scorch from escaping. Shattenzahn's soul was then placed into Sarva's body by Erwood.
  Once in Azul the group met up with Ergan, a powerful artificer and mage, and the master of all the Thulas. He gave them one of the Eyes of Azavox in exchange for an orb filled with Shattenzahn's soul. The Marked Ones betrayed Sarva/Shattenzahn and obtained the Eye of Azavox. Olma made good on her promise to deliver Edon's message to Chandra, even getting a private audience with the godess to do so.
 
  The group also found another Eye hidden in the local university. They broke into the university at night with the help of Sekka, a professor, and stole the Eye, quickly fleeing the city by boat the next day. Sekka joined them, agreeing to aid them in return for their aid in one day visiting the Tenebrous.
