Time and Calendar
Time
Scholars of Irminsul divide the timeline in to eras. The current era is the Era of the Tree (EOT). The current era started with the release of Ourborros, and the emergence of Irminsul 126 years ago. Six eras preceded the current Era of the Tree. These are counted as having happened in the years before the release of Ourborros, also known as the Ourborros Reckoning (OR) The time of the First World (50,000 OR - 10,000 OR) Few know that another world, Am'Saor, once preceded the existence of Irminsul. Fewer still know its name, its fate and the history of the creation of Irminsul. No exact timeframe exists for this era. All is known that it happened hundreds of thousands of years ago. The First World The time of the Genesis War (10,000 OR - 7,734 OR) Most scholars, priests and mages believe this is where the history of Irminsul starts. The creation of what is now Irminsul is placed somewhere about 10,000 years ago. The Genesis War is believed by most humans to have been a war between the old gods and elemental primordials. Few know the actual enemies were the elves and fey. The elves, gnomes and fey know the truth but rarely speak of this era. The Time of settlement (7,734 OR - 1,199 OR) During this era humans, halflings, dwarves, giants, dragons, and all the other races found their foothold on Irminsul and started to expand. The first small kingdoms were formed. Elves, gnomes and fey retreated through their portals to the Feyrealm and the Umber Reach. The time of the Empires (1,199 OR - 751 OR) This the often called the golden age of humanity. The formation of the Crownhold Empire and its expansion all across northern irminsul are the most notable occurrences. The dwarven Deeproot Kingdom, the giants of the Valley of Brothers and the elves of the Order of the Old Ways all flourished during this period. The time of the four wars (751 OR - 646 OR) This era marks the slow decline of the Crownhold Empire and the wars that lead to the secession of several of its territories. The Giant War, Dwarven War, Darkfey War and Soul War make up the four wars this era are named after. The Quiet (646 OR - 1 EOT) The pervious era ended only a little over a century ago. For centuries the world seemed trapped in a status quo. Unknown to most, both light and dark were preparing for the ultimate confrontation. Ourborros, the destroyer god, started stirring in his prison and many of the gods began planning for his eventual escape. The last decades of this era saw the rise of great evils and the emergence of many heroes that stood against them. History of the Silver CityThe Calendar
Days.A day consists of 24 hours. Most people don’t count the hours, relying on the position of the sun and the amount of daylight to tell the time. Other, more magical ways of keeping time also exists and are abundant in the Arcane Jewels. Weeks.
