Lorewood

An ancient and thick forest filled with old gnarled trees. The branches and leaves form a roof nearly impenetrable by light, making the forest floor dark and mysterious. A low fog seems to always creep through the woods, hiding the dark roots even further. Moss, mushrooms and various toadstools grow in abundance against the blackish tree trunks turning the moist air sweet with the scent of pollen and decay. Wolves, foxes, boars and bears are common in the Lorewood as are giant spiders, ettercaps and owlbears.   Two ancient fey spirits, Brother Stalker and Sister Willow, rest deep within the forest, kept slumbering by the lullabies of a large coven of hags. Most people know better than to venture to deep in to the woods unarmed. The forest holds more than a few secrets as it is home to various old druid groves and sacred ritual sites that once belonged to elves and fey.   With the expiration of the fey-pact the Lorewood has become a place of twilight and wonder where the boundry between the material plane and the Fey Realm and Umber Reach is almost non-existent.
