Breidrllyn (Braid-er-lin)
Breidrllyn, home to the Einar, a hardy folk with bloodlines so deeply mixed with goliaths and giants they tower over many of the other humans in Irillyth. These people have learned to adapt to an ever-changing environment, staying on the move, hunting and gathering in such hostile conditions, these people make for formidable warriors.
The cold ice planes of Breidrllyn shift around, creaking and groaning making it ill advisable to build permanent structures as they would likely crumble with each frostshift.
Many inhabitants of Breidrllyn are nomads, it is not uncommon to see nomad tribes living alongside goliaths, or giants.
Buildings and Settlements:
Due to the nomadic nature of the folk who live here, most buildings are simple structures. Some nomads don’t even bother to build and simply find a cave in the rock or ice and lay down some firs; others will collect lightweight wood and bones, throw some pelts over the top and create makeshift tents.Clothing and Fashion:
For the inhabitants of Breidrllyn, function far outweighs fashion. If it is warm and offers protection, it goes on. Those who wear the hides of more powerful creatures are the closest to what we would describe as “fashionable”Traditions and Culture:
As stated already, the culture here is of a nomadic nature, and when two clans meet upon the ice, it is traditional to spend the night together and feast. This not only ensures less inbreeding, but also allows the clans to share resources with one another. A clan with little building materials might trade excess skins with a passing clan, along with any of the women bedded during the meet. With a temperature consistently at or below freezing, regular snowstorms, blizzards this place does not make for most peoples ideal holiday destination.Localized Phenomena
The “Frostshift” is when the ice cracks and moves and reforms. This creates new valleys, mountains, rivers and lakes. It also can be destructive to any buildings which have not been built with this in mind. Small Frostshifts can be as regular as a daily occurrence, but the large terraforming ones are far more infrequent.
