Ruins of the Sun People

In a pocket of the Maddened Sun Desert, in the sweltering head there is glass. Superheated spikes of sand sprinkle the outermost ring of the ruins of a once thriving civilization. The people of the Sun erected great pillars to channel the Sun's energy. Using a complex combinaton of several magic schools the pillars took the overwhelming light of the sun and utilized it in the daily lives of the civilians.

Nobody knows what happened to the Sun People, and in their absence, the light absorbing pillars have gone into varying levels of disrepair.

The central pillar of the city, perfect and fully functional, continues to absorb sunlight and transform it into a barrier over the city. No citizens, just an empty city with fully automated guards and a mysterious ancient and intelligent serpent creature known as a Naga. Paroling the surface and nesting underground, it is the last resident of a lost city. No one knows what happened to them but maybe ask one of the seven great houses of Ulrak'ce. The Yuan-ti are an old "species" and have been underground for a while.
