Premise of Adventuring

Premise of Adventuring:
With that short introduction to the continent and its history, it’s time to address the game system and the two primary methodologies I have in mind for running adventures or campaigns in this world system.   First, game system:
This world will be run using the Pathfinder 2.0 game system (with a possibility of upgrading to a 2.X system if such an update is announced in the future). Available races (and their relative prevalence) for each nation will be included in those nations dossiers, which features later in this document.   Second, the two methodologies:
  • Standalone adventures / campaign. An adventure or series of adventures built into either a scenario or campaign, depending on length. Characters will be one-off for that adventure/scenario/campaign, and contribute to the development and history of Iolex.
  • Roguelike/Roguelite. Adventures, scenarios, or campaigns linked together via successors to previous characters: children (whether adopted or born), trainees, apprentices, incomplete reincarnation, etc. History will progress as you play a character, and influence the world of their successors.
It should be noted that these methods do not necessarily have to be mutually exclusive: Longer-lived races do have the ability to live many generations of other species, and there’s absolutely no reason I cannot or would not accommodate for intergenerational gameplay.   Hexploration rules being used for exploration: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1265 Leadership rules being used for followers: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1258 Kingdom rules found here: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1739
