Empire Desimun

Overview

The Empire Desimun was one of the first two empires to comeout of its system and into the Wider Universe. They developed powerful tools to combat their territorial opponent, the Protiun Empire, but ended up nearly collapsing when the conflict reached its end in a battle over the Earth. Their influence, though present in the Wider Universe, is much more understated than that of the Protiuns.

History

Start of Era-1

Prior to the start of Era-1, the Empire Desimun had exited their planet and spread to each planet in their star system. The final step prior to leaving their star system was the construction of a Dyson Sphere and essentially turning their system into a tugboat-style ship.

Soon after they ventured beyond the bounds of their star system, the Empire Desimun encountered the Protiuns. Friendly relations didn't last long, and a territorial conflict began between the two empires. The simultaneous emergence of the two superpowers, as well as the start of this conflict, marked the start of Era-1.

War with the Protiuns

Conflict Beginning

The Empire Desimun faced offa gainst the Protiun Empire from the first moments they encountered each other. Both were aiming to gather a controlling share of the universe, taking inhabited and uninhabited planets alike as key strategic points to gain more territory.

In the beginning of the conflict, the Empire Desimun was at a significant disadvantage. Their main power source of their flagship system was the star it's built around, so each force dispatched out into the universe required them to extract their own energy and resources from the planets they bring into the empire. The Protiuns, on the other hand, had a powerful source of energy in the form of the Light, which was both limitless and portable. The Protiuns stretched the Empire Desimun thin to divide and conquer, but overestimated themselves, allowing the Empire Desimun to overpower them on most fronts.

The End of Era-1

The Empire Desimun gathered an immense amount of new territory in the final throes of the war with the Protiun Empire, but the final few pieces held by the Protiuns were held onto much more tightly than any before. The key piece of territory to the Empire Desimun was the Earth, which remained the final piece of territory that held off their advance further into Protiun territory.

In their last ditch effort to break through into protiun territory, the Empire Desimun gathered all possible forces into a single attack on the Earth's territory, led by their flagship system. The Protiuns anticipated an attack like this, and so gathered a force of Invictus to confront the assault and hold off the Empire Desimun. The clash of forces was a diversion for a trick pulled by the Protiun Empire. The Invictus held off the Empire Desimun's attack until the Protiuns could activate their Transit Device, pushing the Earth into one empty dimension and the Empire Desimun into another. This not only irreparably damaged the Empire Desimun, but led to the collapse of the Protiun Empire.

Desim in Later Eras

Era-2

The Empire Desimun was forced into another dimension, but didn't collapse. What remained of the Light and numerous Invictus were pushed out along with them. In their exile, the Empire Desimun consolodated much further, running their star into nothing and rebuilding it with the Light. During this time, and the majority of Era-3, the power of the Invictus was studied and reapplied to the Emperor Desimun, who became one with the flagship.

Era-3

Through all of Era-2 and the majority of Era-3, the Empire Desimun was almost entirely forgotten. Toward Era-3's end, the Argan Empire's overuse of a Transit device led to a fracture in space that allowed the Empire Desimun to re-enter the Wider Universe. Soon after, they picked up their conquest of the Wider Universe again. Through the efforts of Kris, Emi, Ren, Emzel, and Ateim leading a three-fold alliance between Corot, the Argan Empire, and <I haven't decided on a name>, the Empire Desimun was toppled for the last time. The start of the lasting allianced forged in opposition to the Empire Desimun marked the beginning of Era-4.

Era-4

All that remains of the Empire Desimun is the dilapidated flagship that sits far into the Outerverse. The Light remains part of the ship, out of the reach of most with the power to make use of it. The rest of the Empire Desimun's forces were spread far and wide across the Wider Universe, and quickly dissolved after the collapse of their central command.

Remaining Influences

Worlds in Eras 3 and 4

The Empire Desimun left a much smaller mark on the universe than the Protiuns in Era-2. This is because, while the Protiuns were spread far and therefore survived in higher numbers, the Empire Desimun was concentrated on the front around the Earth and pushed almost entirely out of the universe. They weren't entirely absent, however, as several inhabited worlds began to grow once freed from their influence. The most notable of these was Corot, which developed in close proximity to the Argan Empire.

The reintroduction of the Empire Desimun into the Wider Universe at toward the end of Era-3 had lasting impacts as well. Their overwhelming imperial force led to the Argan Empire, Corot, and <Still don't have a name> uniting in opposition to them and kicking off the start of Era-4.

Desim Exoplanets

Over the Eras, planets that were wiped clean by the aftermath of the Light's fracturing have begun to recover. Many simple have plant ecosystems, very few have developed animal life, and almost none have gained inhabitants (native or otherwise). Soem choose to live int he Outerverse to escape the conflicts or constraints of the Wider Universe, but the heavy scarring on the planets make them inhospitable to any residents. Some do still choose to live on Desim Exoplanets, but do so in total isolation from each other and the rest of the universe.

Thse Desim Exoplanets are still visited despite their danger and isolation, however, as those furtehst out from the blast still contain Era-1 Artifacts. These can be literature, architecture, art, or even technology that miraculously survived the apocalypse that ended Era-1. Those that find these can sell them for enourmous sums of money, or can use them for their own personal gain. These artifacts are very rare, and so anyone willing to risk venturing into the Outerverse for extended periods of time can come back with great reward.

Desim Technology

Desim Flagship

Era 1

The Flagship System during Era-1 was a mobilized version of the Empire Desimun's home system. The Dyson Sphere built around the system's star was converted into a mobile ship whose gravitational pull on the system's planets carry them around like a tug-boat. As a result, the entire star system became the Flagship System of the Empire Desimun.

Era3

The Flagship during Era-3 is more consolidated than in Era-1. In its exile, the Empire Desimun lost many of the planets and burned out the star it was built around. The flagship was converted to draw power from the Light and become among the only habitable places for the residents of the Empire Desimun.
