Envida, Spirit of Envy

Envida is a powerful Major Spirit of envy. She is said to have once been a mortal who was consumed by envy, and her spirit was bound to the plane of spirits as a result of her obsession. She is now known as the Envious Spirit and is said to manifest in the physical world as a beautiful woman with eyes that seem to constantly shift color, reflecting the emotions of those around her. Her followers believe that she can grant them the power to achieve their deepest desires, but only if they are willing to sacrifice everything they have for her. She encourages her followers to be never satisfied with what they have and always to seek more. She teaches that the strong should take from the weak and that the clever should outsmart the foolish. Her followers often engage in deception, trickery, and manipulation to get what they want. Her followers are often power-hungry individuals such as politicians, business leaders, and criminals.  

APPEARANCE

Envida, the Envious Spirit is known to manifest in the physical world in the form of a beautiful woman, she is usually dressed in dark, luxurious clothing, Her face is alluring and her body is that of a perfect, elegant, and seductive woman. Her hair is long and dark, with a sheen that seems to change color depending on the lighting. Her eyes are her most striking feature; they are large and bright, with a color that seems to constantly shift. They reflect the emotions of those around her, seeming to change from green to blue to gray and black, depending on the level of envy or jealousy she is sensing. She also has an aura of dark energy around her, which many interpret as an expression of the envy and malice that consumes her.     When she decides to be more subtle in her appearance, she will manifest as a whisper in the ear, a nagging feeling of doubt or a seed of envy planted in the heart.

TRADITIONS & PRACTICES

There are ten commandments that priests of Envida must adhere to:

• Always strive to be the best and to outdo others, by any means necessary.
• Never be satisfied with what you have; always desire more power, status, and possessions.
• Encourage others to be envious of you, and to desire what you have.
• Use deception, trickery, and manipulation to achieve your goals.
• Offer sacrifices of power and status to Envida to gain her favor.
• Act as an advisor to powerful leaders and use your position to gain even more power and status for yourself and Envida.
• Show no mercy to those who stand in the way of your goals or the goals of Envida.
• Do not form emotional attachments; they will only hold you back.
• Do not show any compassion or empathy towards others; they are only obstacles to be overcome.
• Remember that Envida's teachings and power should be kept secret from non-believers and only shared with those deemed worthy by the clergy.

Ritual of Envy

One ritual performed by the priests of Envida is the "Ritual of Envy." This ritual is performed to gain the favor of Envida and to harness her power. It is usually performed by a group of priests, led by a high priest or priestess.   It is typically performed in a secret chamber or at an isolated location, hidden from the non-believers.   The ritual begins with the priests gathering in a circle around an altar, which is adorned with offerings of power and status, such as precious gems, fine clothing, and exotic incense. The altar is also adorned with a representation of Envida, usually in the form of a statue or a painting.   The high priest or priestess will lead the group in a chant, praising Envida and asking for her blessings. The chant is in a language that is not meant to be understood by the common folk, adding to the mystique of the ceremony.   As the chant reaches its climax, the high priest or priestess will then sacrifice an animal or a person deemed to be a powerful figure, to Envida. The blood from the sacrifice is used to anoint the offerings on the altar as well as the statue or painting of Envida.   After the sacrifice, the high priest or priestess will then take the offerings to the statue or painting, and pour the blood over it, This will make the statue or painting glow with dark energy, signaling Envida's presence.   The high priest or priestess will then offer a personal sacrifice, something they hold dear, this can be a material possession or even something as personal as a personal relationship or reputation, to Envida, as proof of their devotion and as a sign of their willingness to give up anything to achieve their goals.   The ritual ends with the priests leaving the chamber or the isolated location in silence, each one in their own way, but united in their devotion to Envida and the power that she can grant them.

• Wealth and Luxury: Envida's followers may offer her gold, jewels, and other valuable items as an expression of their wealth and success. They may also offer her items that symbolize luxuries, such as fine clothing, perfumes, or other luxuries.
• Influence and Control: Envida's followers may offer her items that symbolize influence or control over others, such as a letter of introduction, a sealed document, or a political or business card. They may also offer her items that symbolize control over a situation, such as a map, a letter, or a plan.
• Knowledge and Information: Envida's followers may offer her knowledge, such as secret information, a piece of information they know that can hurt others, or a forbidden book. They may also offer her items that symbolize the acquisition of knowledge, such as a quill, a scroll, or a book.
• Revenge and destruction: Envida's followers may offer her items that symbolize revenge or destruction, such as a weapon or a symbol of an enemy, as well as items that represent the destruction of something, such as a smashed object.
• Personal sacrifice: The followers may also offer personal sacrifices, like relationships, reputation, or something that holds sentimental value to them, to prove their devotion and to demonstrate their willingness to give up anything to achieve their goals.

SHRINES & PRIESTS

Envida's shrines are typically located in hidden or remote locations, away from the prying eyes of non-believers. They are often located in dark, gloomy places such as abandoned buildings, caves, or other places of isolation and secrecy.   The shrines themselves are adorned with dark colors such as dark green, purple, or black. They are often decorated with symbols of envy such as a serpent, a pair of eyes, or a depiction of Envida. The shrines may also have an altar with offerings of power, status, wealth, and other items that were mentioned as accepted offerings before.   Envida's priests are often secretive, and they do not advertise their devotion to her. They are known to be skilled in deception and trickery and they use their powers to achieve their goals. The priests may act as advisors to powerful leaders and work behind the scenes to gain more power and status for themselves and their spirit. They may also be involved in illegal activities such as extortion, fraud, or even murder.   The priests are often found in positions of power and influence such as politics, business, and criminal organizations, and their main goal is to gain more power and status for themselves and their spirit. They are also known to act as a cult, recruiting new followers to their cause and teaching them the ways of Envida.   Some of the more powerful priests may even go as far as to form secret societies within the society, where they can work in secret to achieve their goals and where only the elite members of the society are aware of their true identities.   The priests of Envida typically wear dark green robes with hoods that conceal their faces. The robes are often adorned with symbols of Envida such as serpent, a pair of eyes, or a depiction of Envida. They may also wear jewelry or other accessories that are adorned with the same symbols. The robes are usually made of fine, luxurious fabrics, and they often exude an aura of dark, mysterious energy.   The priests often have a striking appearance, with sharp features and piercing eyes. They are often tall and physically imposing, and they exude a sense of power and confidence. Their eyes often reflect the envy and malice that consume them, and their presence can be unsettling to others.   Many of the priests are skilled in the arts of deception and trickery, and they use their appearance to intimidate and manipulate others. They may also use makeup, special lighting, and other methods to enhance their appearance and make them appear more mysterious and otherworldly.   Some of the priests also tend to wear masks, the masks may depict Envida, the serpent, or a pair of eyes, they use these masks during the rituals and ceremonies to add to the mystique and to conceal their identities.
