Ritual of Fury
The "Ritual of Fury" is a ritual that the priests of Angrathar perform in order to appease the spirit and gain his favor. It is a dangerous and powerful ritual that is only to be performed by those who are initiated into the priesthood. The ritual takes place at night, in a secluded location, typically within a hidden underground chamber or a remote mountainous or volcanic region. The location is chosen specifically because of its association with natural disasters and destruction, which are seen as manifestations of Angrathar's power. The ritual begins with the priests gathering around a large altar that is adorned with the symbol of Angrathar. The altar is made of black stone and is adorned with incense and offerings of blood. The priests then begin to chant the "Hymns of Angrathar", which are designed to appeal to the spirit's wrathful nature and promise to channel it toward enemies and adversaries. As the chanting grows louder and more frenzied, the priests begin to enter a trance-like state, becoming more and more consumed by their own rage and anger. As the climax of the ritual approaches, a volunteer is chosen to act as a vessel for Angrathar. The volunteer is bound to the altar and the priests begin to perform the sacrifice, which is typically a live animal but can also be a human in certain cases. The volunteer is then stabbed and their blood is used to draw a magical circle around the altar. As the sacrifice is made, the priests use the blood to draw the symbol of Angrathar on the altar, and then they invoke the spirit's name, calling upon him to manifest and take possession of the volunteer. As the invocation is made, the room is filled with intense heat and light, and Angrathar's presence is said to be palpable. At this point, the volunteer's body convulses and contorts as Angrathar takes possession of them. They become a vessel for the spirit's power, and their eyes turn red, a sign that they have been consumed by Angrathar's wrath. This possession lasts for a certain amount of time and in certain cases, is permanent. The priests then use this vessel to perform acts of destruction and violence in the name of Angrathar, believing that by doing so they will gain the spirit's favor and be granted a portion of his immense power. This ritual is extremely dangerous, both for the volunteer who risks being consumed by Angrathar's wrath and for anyone that might be targeted by the priests while they are under the spirit's possession.OFFERINGS
