Mynok System

in Sagittarius Arm Star Systems

The Mynok System is a star system within the Sagittarius Arm of the Milkyway Galaxy. The Mynok System consists of 5 terrestrial planets and one gas giant. The Gnimgian galactic race occupy the system from their homeplanet of Mynok II, or Gozolara. The system is currently under the jurisdiction of the Hivivian Empire, a coalition of several alien races. The Hivivian conquered the Mynok system and incorporated the Gnimgian into the collective around 12,765 BCE.

Planets

1. Mynok I, also known as Kryzak, is the closest to the system's star. This barren, rocky planet is subjected to severe solar radiation, making it lifeless and inhospitable. Despite this, it is rich in precious metals and rare minerals. The Hivivian Empire has established several mining stations on the planet, extracting the resources.

2. Gozolara, also known as Mynok II, is a barren desert world of the Mynok System within the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. Gozolara serves as the homeworld of the Gnimgian. Describing Gozolara as inhospitable would be an understatement, owing to its peculiar characteristics that set it apart from most habitable planets.   The first noticeable feature of Gozolara is its low gravity. Compared to Earth, the gravitational force on Gozolara is significantly weaker. This attribute poses both advantages and challenges for the Gnimgian, enabling them to move with ease, but also affecting their physical development due to the lack of natural resistance. What truly sets Gozolara apart, however, is its atmosphere. Laden with a toxic blend of gases, including excessive levels of methane, helium, and carbon dioxide, the air on Gozolara is highly lethal for most known life forms. Breathing on this planet without the aid of advanced protective gear would be fatal within minutes.

3. Mynok III, also known as Yazol'kur, is a frozen wasteland perpetually battered by extreme blizzards. The surface of Yazol'kur is primarily covered by dense ice and snow, with temperatures routinely dipping below minus two hundred degrees Fahrenheit. The planet's general conditions make the establishment of any sort of permanent settlement highly improbable. Yet, the seemingly inhospitable planet is home to several subterranean species of flora and fauna, evolved to thrive under the severest of cold temperatures.

4. Mynok IV, known also as Korma, is by far the most Earth-like planet in the Mynok System, with a temperate climate, lush vegetation, and a highly diverse ecosystem. However, Korma's fauna is significantly larger and more dangerous than on Earth due to its oxygen-rich atmosphere.

5. Mynok VI, or Sivara, is the sixth and furthest planet, Mynok VI is about four-times larger than Pluto with very thin atmosphere composed mainly of helium and traces of nitrogen. The surface is mostly solid ice with occasional rock outcroppings, all barely lit by Mynok’s shine.

Gas Giant

6. Mynok V, also known as Argus, is a hot-gas giant, and the second furthest in the Mynok system. Mynok V is composed of various hot elements including helium, hydrogen, and a higher-than-usual proportion of xenon with a molten iron core. The planet glows with an unmistakable royal blue hue due to the intense heat and pressure in its core, which stimulates the xenon to emit radiant light. Argus is orbited by 192 moons.
