Urkonka System

The Urkonka System (pronounced: /UR-kon-kah/, IPA: /ˈɜːr.kɒn.kə/) is a star system located in the inner quadrant of the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, approximately 6,309 light-years from Sol. Strategically obscure and seldom trafficked, the system occupies a tectonically unstable starfield marked by erratic cometary paths and intense magnetic turbulence. Urkonka contains six known planets—four terrestrial worlds and two gas giants—orbiting a red-orange subgiant in the early stages of stellar expansion. The fourth planet, Pheonope (Urkonka IV), is the native world of the Becceorian species—an aggressive, hierarchical sapient race whose destructive tribal warfare has rendered large portions of the planet ecologically unstable. The system was conquered by the Hivivian Empire in 2647. Since then, the Hivivian has maintained a semi-permanent presence in the system.
