Prime Minister of Mars

The Prime Minister of Mars, formally the Prime Minister of the Martian Republic, is the head of government and leader of the Cabinet of Mars. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President of Mars with the advice and consent of Parliament and ranks second in the presidential line of succession, following the Vice President.   While the President serves as head of state and commander-in-chief, the Prime Minister oversees the daily operations of government, coordinates legislative priorities with Parliament, and directs the implementation of colonial policy through the Cabinet. Upon appointment, the Prime Minister nominates ministers to head the twenty-one executive departments, subject to presidential approval. The Prime Minister cannot be dismissed by the President unilaterally, but may be removed from office by a vote of no confidence in the House of Representatives or as part of an impeachment process. All executive actions taken by the Prime Minister are subject to judicial review. While the President may guide colonial policy, especially in foreign affairs and defense, the Prime Minister maintains principal authority over domestic administration and legislative coordination, regardless of political party alignment.
