Korrum Drake

The Korrum Drake is a heavily armored apex predator native to the mountainous highlands and exposed cliff systems of Kravax-Tharuun, known exoplanetarily as Draxion-8. Typically measuring 5.2 meters in length and standing 1.8 meters at the shoulder, the Korrum Drake exhibits a suite of high-gravity and storm-adapted physiological traits. Its dermal plating consists of overlapping, electro-insulative keratinized scales embedded with piezoelectric nodules, allowing the dissipation of ambient lightning strikes. The creature’s musculoskeletal structure supports extreme vertical load-bearing, with a broad stance and low center of gravity ideal for navigating sheer cliffs and wind-raked plateaus. Its respiratory system includes triple-chambered lungs that facilitate oxygen extraction under variable atmospheric pressure and low oxygen saturation zones near altitudinal storm bands.   The Korrum Drake is obligately carnivorous and hunts both by ambush and territorial dominance, often establishing control over high-EM outcroppings where prey density is elevated due to thermoregulatory convergence behavior. It uses environmental EM fluctuations as both camouflage and disruption—preying on disoriented mid-sized fauna such as cliffborne Xarvii and tundral unguloids. Solitary in disposition, Korrum Drakes are known to emit infrasonic deterrence pulses during mating or territorial challenge events, and rare observations suggest a rudimentary form of spatial memory or geoelectromagnetic imprinting.
