The Gor’mal Thresh is a hypercarnivorous megatherid endemic to the Veilspine Chasm floor and the Obsidian Gullets of Kravax-Tharuun (Draxion-8). Reaching lengths of up to 6 meters and standing approximately 2.3 meters at the shoulder, this quadrupedal predator is distinguished by its basalt-hardened dermis, which is interlaced with thermally conductive microchannels that regulate internal temperature under geothermal stress. Its extreme physical durability, combined with low-profile magnetic disruption behavior, makes it a top-tier ambush predator in the planet’s most electromagnetically volatile terrain. The Gor’mal Thresh relies on a dual-cortical brain structure—one hemisphere governing instinctive predation and the other adapted to track ambient electromagnetic flux, allowing the animal to detect movement, respiration, and nervous system activity at significant distances in the pitch-dark, storm-raked depths.   The species deploys pheromone-based baiting, releasing neurochemical signals that mimic the decomposition profiles of injured or decaying fauna, thereby attracting scavengers and low-tier predators into ambush range. Its bite force, musculature, and sub-dermal shock-dampening tissues suggest a predation strategy centered on short bursts of explosive violence rather than sustained chases.
