Eryndhal

Eryndhal, also known as Kaelarion III, is the third terrestrial planet within the Kaelarion System of the Perseus Arm of the Milkyway Galaxy. Eryndhal is distinguished by its varied topography, active climate cycles, and rich biosphere, serving as the exclusive home of the Rhaevanir—an indigenous humanoid lion species. Noted for its expansive volcanic highlands, broad steppe grasslands, and rugged temperate forests, Eryndhal supports a diverse ecosystem shaped by millennia of evolutionary contest and climatic volatility. The planet's surface is divided into multiple continental landmasses, each separated by deep oceanic basins and traversed by seasonal river systems. Glaciated polar regions and active tectonic belts contribute to frequent seismic events and a climate characterized by pronounced wet and dry cycles. Natural resources include iron-rich ores, dense hardwood forests, and extensive grazing plains, all of which play an integral role in sustaining the planet’s pre-industrial societies.   Eryndhal is inhabited solely by the Rhaevanir, whose civilization is organized along strict feudal and martial lines, with power concentrated in hereditary Prideholds and a central absolute monarchy. Native technology is classified as "tier-7: pre-industrial," with material culture dominated by iron-age metallurgy, fortification architecture, and a subsistence economy based on hunting, herding, and localized agriculture. While evidence of advanced off-world artifacts is periodically recovered in the form of crashed debris or unknown alloys, these are ritually dismantled and reforged for native use rather than studied or replicated. The planet’s social fabric is defined by a rigid hierarchy, oral tradition, and an honor-bound ethos that governs all aspects of life—from warfare and governance to kinship and spiritual practice. Eryndhal remains uncontacted and insular, with no awareness of or interaction with external civilizations.
