Department of Tíreian Security

The Hierarchy Department of Tíreian Security is the executive department of the Hierarchy government responsible for public security. Its stated missions involve crime prevention, anti-terrorism, border and planetary security, immigration and customs, and disaster prevention and management. It began operations in 2022, formed as a result of the Tíreian Security Act of 2021, enacted in response to the 2010 Colonization Wars. With more than 360,000 employees. The DTS is the third-largest Governorate department, after the Departments of the Military and State. Tíreian Security policy is coordinated at the Governor-General's Longhouse by the Hierarchy Security Council.   The current administrator is Koria Airki, since Mirth 8, 2715, who is the first non-Tíreian Caniic and immigrant to lead the Department of Tíreian Security, as well as the only Governorate member to remain from the previous Administration.

The Department of Tíreian Security's primary role is to safeguard the Hierarchy from all threats, both external and internal. As a unified security structure, the Department employs a comprehensive strategy to maintain public safety by deploying robust preventative measures, executing swift response operations, and coordinating efficient recovery efforts in case of disasters or major incidents.   The department's function extends to the coordination of a multi-tiered intelligence network, ensuring the flow of critical information between different agencies. This mechanism aids in informed decision making while enhancing the reach and effectiveness of the DTS operations. It further incorporates advanced scientific technologies to bolster its security architecture, resulting in precise detection and neutralization of potential threats.   With regard to its purpose, the Department serves to protect the lives and liberties of all inhabitants within the Caniic Hierarchy. Its expansive jurisdiction encompasses border control and planetary security wherein it exercises stringent immigration policies while also facilitating lawful migration. The DTS caters to secure transportation systems on an interplanetary scale, adding yet another layer to the dense security grid of the Hierarchy. Furthermore, it conducts extensive background checks and due-diligence for all incoming individuals and goods, thereby ensuring only safe and compliant entities have access to Hierarchy space. In a bid to stay ahead of its enemies, the DTS maintains active engagement with both local and interstellar communities. This initiative aids in fostering cooperation, building trust, and collecting valuable intelligence from grassroots sources. To this end, the department runs several public programs aimed at forging partnerships with different segments of society.   The DTS also oversees civil liberties protection within the Hierarchy. It ensures that security measures respect individual rights and freedoms and promote equality among all Caniic and non-caniic citizens. To maintain transparency, it operates an internal justice system under which it reviews its own operations for any potential infractions.

The official emblem of the Department of Tíreian Security is a symbol of unity and protection. It is composed of a circular shield, embodying the Hierarchy's defence against threats. Within the shield, there are three main elements: a rising star, which represents hope and aspirations for a peaceful future; an abstract image of Thilt and Xeviron, symbolizing the wide geographical coverage under the Department's purview; and finally, two interlocking rings that signify the unification amongst all member nations and colonies.   Surrounding these central elements are representations of different agencies within the Department. Each depicted by unique symbols illustrating the functions they perform. Such include keys for the Infrastructure Security Agency, signalling their role in safeguarding critical infrastructure, and scales for the Office of General Counsel, signifying justice and lawfulness. Encompassing it all is an outer ring bearing the name of the Department in both Tíreian script and universal language – serving as a constant affirmation of its commitment to security for all. At the base of the emblem, the motto of the Department is inscribed: "Vigilance, Unity, Protection." These three words reflect the ethos of the Department and its unwavering dedication to preserving peace and safeguarding liberty.   The emblem is used on all documents, uniforms, and official insignia related to the Department. It serves as a symbol of authority, indicating the Department's jurisdiction and official capacity in security matters. The seal itself is treated with reverence by members of the Department, who regard it as a reminder of their solemn duty.

The DTS is headquartered on Tíreia within the Department of Tíreian Security Longhouse in Hagis, Corga. The Longhouse is an imposing structure that serves not only as a workspace but also as a symbol of the Department's strength and commitment to security.   The Longhouse complex spans several hectares, housing departments, training facilities, data centers, research laboratories, and meeting halls. It's designed to withstand significant threats, from natural disasters to sophisticated attacks. The exterior is reinforced with specialized anti-energy-absorption materials, while the interior is equipped with advanced safety measures, including surveillance systems and biohazard containment systems. Security within the Longhouse is managed by the Hierarchy Protective Service. The agency has an on-site division whose sole responsibility is to maintain peace and order within the complex's premises. They manage a rigorous clearance process for entry, employ round-the-clock surveillance, and implement strict protocols for information security.
