Brann

Brann was a minor god in the Thauzunian Orthodoxy, associated with smithing, metallurgy, and material strength. In pre-Fall belief, Brann did not govern craft broadly, but focused specifically on the working of metal. His domain covered forging, casting, tempering, and maintenance, treating metal as a material that demanded respect for its properties and limits.
Orthodox doctrine viewed metalwork as a specialized discipline within the broader system of making. Brann represented consistency and durability rather than power or status. Weapons, tools, and structural components were valued for reliability, not symbolism. Failure of metal under stress was considered a failure of process, not fate. Brann’s influence emphasized quality control and restraint.
Brann was closely associated with smiths, foundries, and maintenance crews rather than warriors. Pre-Fall teachings emphasized that metal required continual care; neglect led to decay and danger. Improvised or poorly maintained metalwork was considered hazardous to social order. Brann’s role reinforced the idea that strength depended on preparation rather than force.
No knowledge of Brann survives into the post-Fall era. There are no remaining references to his name, symbols, or occupational traditions in modern Vey’Zari society. The Thauzunian Orthodoxy itself is unknown, and with its disappearance, all formal understanding of Brann vanished. He is not remembered or absorbed into later belief systems.
