Bjarki Alvidsǫgr
Bjarki, son of Alvid, was a caniic veteran of the War of the Last Emperor. He came from a low-class Cactiican family, but was Andractiician by birth. Years after the Last Emperor War and the formation of the Caniic Hierarchy, Bjarki was appointed as the assistant administrator of the Army and Navy in 1930, and rose to the position of Administrator upon the death of his superior, MAR GEN Laiven Laevenairjóttar in 1935.
Under the guidance of Governor-General Airre Light-Foot, Bjarki became a prominent figure in the development of the Army and Navy. He was a man of principles and believed in the concept of aircraft carriers as the centerpiece of battle groups. He worked tirelessly to strengthen the Army and Navy, and even tried to weaken the proposed Department of the Military for the Army and Navy's benefit.
In 1942, he was named Administrator of the Military by Governor-General Iveer Vaniisǫgr. Though the two men often clashed, Bjarki ran the department to the best of his abilities until his resignation, which was forced by Vaniisǫgr. His health rapidly deteriorated soon after, and he underwent medical care for a serious heart condition. Despite the best efforts of his doctors, he died from coronary artery implant failure after surgery.
Bjarki’s legacy lives on, even after his death. In 1957, the HAN's new supercarrier was named HS Bjarki in his honor. His name is also associated with the Bjarki Alvidsǫgr Longhouse, which houses the headquarters of the Hierarchy Office of Energy and Power Management.
