Aul’Vex

Aul’Vex, or Craehlil I, is the innermost planet of the Craehlil System within the Orion Arm of the Milkyway Galaxy, located at 0.39 AU away from Craehlil. Aul’Vex is a scorched silicate world, stripped bare by stellar winds, tidal locking, and centuries of orbital decay. With surface temperatures exceeding 900°C on the day side and near-cryogenic shadows on the night side, Aul’Vex exhibits an extreme thermal dichotomy and near-constant tectonic grinding along its terminator zone. Its once-fractured crust has been repeatedly resurfaced by superheated silicate flows and core-driven mantle upheavals. No indigenous life has ever taken root, but scattered archaeological remnants suggest ancient failed attempts at colonization—likely syndicate research outposts or abandoned energy-harvesting spires dating back to the early Vey’Zari diaspora. Despite its lethality, Aul’Vex plays a minor but strategic role in Craehlil’s interplanetary infrastructure. Subsurface vault arrays and polarized orbital stations—most operated remotely by fringe syndicates—extract rare refractory elements and plasma-stable minerals from beneath its irradiated crust. These are then flung via magneto-rail slings into cargo arks destined for Thauzuno or Delmira. The planet remains off-limits to habitation, with short-duration drone missions enforced through relay contracts overseen by Axiom Dataworks and the Delmiran Lunar Survey. No sovereign claims have been ratified, and Aul’Vex remains a contested shell world: inert, deadly, and valuable only to those willing to risk technological attrition for raw material gain.
