Reckless Magic
Developed by Tetra Silverdew during his time at Prism University, Reckless magic is an arcane technique centered around calling upon but making no effort to shape the magical energies of one's plane. It's origins can be traced to Tetra's first mentor, Gargax the Gold, a sorcerer who instilled in Tetra a strong understanding of the fundamentals of magic. Tetra drew inspiration for Gargax's wild magic surges, attempting to create random magical effects as the intent of a spell rather than as a by-product of a spell. His familiarity with all schools of magic and pre-existing knowledge of sorcery allowed him to a method of spellcasting that produces one (and sometimes even two) random spells, but with of failure that results in wild magic. The caster attempting the feat must provide the base of a spell, using the appropriate amount of mana but not shaping it into a specific magical effect. This unbound mana, not being controlled by a spell or used as an energy source, will shape itself into a random spells. The random spells vary greatly in type, but are relatively consistent in which spell they will form. But, the chaotic nature of the technique does introduce room for error: sometimes the expelled mana splits and casts 2 spells at the same time. And more complex still, the diverging of a spell introduces a higher likelihood of further divergence, which ultimately creates a wild magic surge similar to that of a sorcerer.
