Howler's Moss

Known Region

There are three places I am positive that it grows. The Thunderwood Expanse, Stormbreaker Cliffs and Hollow of the Nine Thunders. However, it's possible that it can grow on any lightning struck tree, windswept canyon walls, and cliffs perpetually kissed by lightning. I often just gather it when I see it, which is usually about four to six days after a severe thunderstorm.

Properties

Howler's Moss is attuned with air magic and crackles with energy when you run your hand across it or a thunderstorm is rolling in. It is rather painful to be shocked by this moss, and therefore must be handled with care. The darker moss can be brewed into a coffee substitute, in a pinch. The lighter moss is generally harder to grab, if you're too slow for it. Generally it has an affect on ones speed, mental or otherwise.

..As An Alchemy Ingredient

Potions that use the darker moss:
Stormheart Elixir -A coffee substitute.
Sparkblood Tonic -Similar effect, but also helps with focusing.
Potions that use the lighter moss:
Draught of Tempests Tongue -A potion that lets you control an air elemental for 2 min.
Elixir of Thunderhide -A potion that grants lightning protection.
Also highly effective in potions that increase vitality, speed and strength. Safe to eat raw for cardio training.
