Glowfox Tail Fur

Known Region

Glowfoxes tend to live in the Whisperwoods. Smaller populations can be found in other bioluminescent locations. Glowfoxes come in a variety of colours with the most common being red/orange. Blue is uncommon among them, gold and silver are rare, and purple is almost unheard of. Glowfox fur is unnaturally soft, even in the wild. However, the tail fur is generally used the most as its the easiest to obtain.

Properties

The fur is used due to its perception enhancing abilities. You are generally able to focus on whatever it is you're tracking or keeping any eye out for. Glowfoxes generally see you way before you see them and if you do happen to see one and it approaches you, take it as a sign that they sense no threat from you. A temporary side-effect of consuming a potion with the fur as an ingredient is the slight bioluminescence that accompanies it.

..As An Alchemy Ingredient

The Elixir of Moon-Sight uses the fur as a stabilizer for its sight-based abilities and the fur also acts as an antiemetic in this instance. Do not ask why, I've made the potion without the fur and used something else as a substitute. The potion failed and I almost gassed out the whole Apothecary. It was awful.

Gathering and Preparation Instructions

Veevi usually provides his fur to me during shedding season, and I am able to collect all that I need for the year. However without having a Glowfox at home, one must traverse the Whisperwoods during shedding season and collect the tufts that get caught in brambles.
