Liqueur of Living Shadows

Main Ingredients and Equipment

Ingredients

• 1 Litre of Duskwater
• 1 Strip of Gloombat Wing Membrane
• 3 Drops of Kraken Ink
• A single Gravewyrm Tooth, ground to a powder
• 1 Whisper Fern frond.

Equipment

• Quartz Cauldron, any size
• Shadowglass stirring rod
• Crystal Vial for Storage (the shadows will decorate the bottle on their own)
• Protective Runes

Usage and Effect

Usage

You may pour some of the potion out onto a spell circle made of black salts and let it coalesce into a small Shadow Elemental. Alternatively, you can drink it and allow your shadow to detach, though this effect will not last as long as the other method.

Effect

This potion is able to summon a small Shadow Elemental, or it allows your shadow to roam at your command. If you do happen to drink it, it allows the drinker to walk softer, dampening the sounds of foot falls. It generally dampens sounds made by the drinker and can be known to grant umbral sight.

Instructions

• 1. Add Duskwater and boil until it turns silver, stirring occasionally.
• 2. Add the Kraken Ink drop by drop and stirring twice per drop until the mixture turns a pitch black.
• 3. Place the Gloombat Wing Membrane into the mixture and let dissolve.
• 4. Next, place the Whisper Fern frond on top, and let it dissolve. Stir until you can no longer hear the stirring.
• 5. Allow to cool, and filter into the Crystal Vial.
• 6. Mark the bottom of the bottle with the protective rune. This is to prevent premature summoning.

Oh, if you want your Shadow Elemental to like you, feed it candy. I don't understand why they enjoy sugars, but they do. I gave one a Giggle Bean once, it was cute how it shimmered.
