Orcs

The term 'Orc' is a general term for the entire group of peoples, but like humans, the separate races in the orcs are not as different as say dragonborns. Whichever the case, Orc's skin colour tends to blend with their surroundings. Orcs from the desert will often have a sandy colour, while orcs from the grasslands will have a grassy green colour, and orcs from near the sea will have a blue hue to their skin. Apart from humans, elves, dwarves and halflings, Orcs have tougher, more leathery skin and tusks that jut out from the lower jaw.   As much as people tend to give them flack for being "a bit messy and barbaric", Orcs value cleanliness in the home nearly as much as elves and cleanliness of the self as much as Aracockras. To most of the human-like cultures, Orcs, much like dragonborns, and tieflings, are not very revered and are seen as a "monster race', but among the monster races, Orcs are probably the most revered.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

orc's homelands arent in the Up North. They're more southern folk.

Shared customary codes and values

I big part of Orc culture is show don't tell. Showing is a form of hard proof, and its how people know stuff about you. That being said, trust and honesty is also a big part of Orc culture, and lying is seen as this really bad thing. So most advice you will gt if you go to an Orc state is "be true, it's better than lying about yourself."

Common Etiquette rules

Close friends and lovers greet each other with a bear hug, while a handshake or high five is how strangers greet each other. In a person's home, it is customary to offer food and a clean place to stay just in case they decide to stay the night, so there's always a guest room or two, and they will always be the cleanest room in the house. When presented with food at a home, you simply do not refuse, it is a sign of: "why am I here, I am super awkward, what am I doing." Just accept the food and deal with it.   One thing Orcs don't ever talk about ever is how their kids/spouse are doing. It's another form of "show don't tell". People will see your kid in public and that's the proof of how well they're doing.

Common Dress code

Most orcs that live in non-orc places tend to put a focus for wearing the local fashion. But if it's an orc festival that's going on, then they wear traditional garb. Traditional garb mainly consists of colourful cloth worn on the waist, the bottom layer of cloth must be opaque but the rest can be as transparent as you want. Then the rest consists of jewelry worn like necklaces, bracelets and anklets, as well as the occasion piercing. Traditional orc clothing varies depending on the region, you can generally tell by the fabric's patterns, but it is overall a more revealing dress.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Orcs tend to have a lot of drums in their music. Their music is a reflection of the hollow sound caves and rocks have. It resonates with how orcs came into this world etc etc.   Orc culture is a lot of judging someone by their muscles, but it's not lose respect for a skinny guy, its gain respect for a buff guy. Kinda like: "oi, nice build mate." If someone walks round shirtless and is buff as hell, then people'll shout like: "ooh! flex man flex!!!" The general mood is being chill on the streets.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

In most of the cultures, Men usually wear their hair long, sometimes with dreadlocks, and sometimes in braids. And women usually wear their hair short, as to not get it in the way while working. Popular hairstyles include tying the hair up in a loose bun or pony tail, wearing it down loose when off work, or having your significant other do up your hair all fancy like for a special gathering. A common accessory found in the hair of men and sometimes women are beads. Beads don't signify anything, and are just a fancy little thing that gives your head some pizzazz, but they are highly sought after sometimes and some people are obsessed.   People view bigger tusks to be more impressive, however your tusks can only be so big until it starts becoming impractical. Males usually have larger tusks than the females, and thus large tusks are seen as a sign of masculinity. When one tusk is broken or chipped, that can be a frequent conversation starter when someone asks you how you broke your tusk.   Since Orcs live way in the south, they have to deal with more bugs n stuff, and those little guys tend to carry diseases and whatnot. To evade getting those, Orcs bath themselves a whole lot and also clean their houses at least once a week. Whenever a human comes over, they are usually surprised at the amount of bathouses and various things related to cleaning yourself that they see.   The amount of muscle someone has also contributes to their beauty. Muscles signify hard work, or how good you are in combat and all that. They are also seen as beautiful because it shows the figure in its fullest.

Gender Ideals

Orcs are probably the only culture where men and women's jobs were completely equal from the start. Both fight in wars, both clean the house and raise children, and both body build like there's no tomorrow. Most orcs are completely baffled by why other cultures have gender roles in the first place.   Most traditional clothing of males and females have the torso completely exposed with nothing but jewelry on them, with the lower half being covered by silk robes (and more jewelry). The more vibrant the colours are on the clothing signifies wealth, and the more jewelry also signifies wealth. Orcish jewelry is probably the one thing everybody on the continent can agree that it is pretty, and hella expensive.

Courtship Ideals

There's not really any sort of marriage type ritual for couples to do to make their relationship "official". It's more like: if you're close enough with someone to room with them, and then close enough to have sex, you're basically together. Because of this, nobody cares if you have multiple spouses and children with each of them.

Relationship Ideals

What signifies a relationship is how close someone is to their significant other(s). If your comfortable with sharing a bed, showing your love in public, and also having sex with the person, you count as being with that person. It is common for a household to have multiple men and women rooming with each other and being comfortable having sex with each other hand having orgies and whatnot. As long as the house is clean, and everybody bathes, its fine.
