Seed Bread
Seed bread is the basic bread of my people, the Fae. Found on almost every table from the farmers to the royals, it's high versatility makes it something everyone has had in their life. Soft, a bit tangy and topped with flower seeds, it has great flavor. Once sliced, it was often topped with butter or jams and eaten with other meals. Parents often pack up slices of bread with meat and cheeses for their children to take to school or while out playing and soldiers will toast those meat and cheese bread slices over campfires to change up the occasionally monotonous food items eaten while on campaign.
Seed bread has been around for since before our written histories. And each of the five tribes have a different recipe. The Than top the bread with Fireflower seeds, giving it a constant warmth and a heat to the mouth. The Fileg druids specifically enjoy adding catmint seeds for the side effect of bringing them closer to nature. Myril bakers add poppy seeds and watch with horror when druids eat the catmint seed bread (most Myril are at least mildly allergic to catmint with the shifters being deathly allergic to it). The Lhingril like adding bluemoon seeds, which make the bread glow. The Lhûg add sundown seeds to the bread, something they have historically eaten as a nomadic group.
Most will agree that seed bread is best baked in an oven though cooks in war camps will cook the loafs right next to the open fires. The soldiers will argue that it makes the bread taste better because the charring adds to the flavor.
Beithir Hacende, the Fae queen, has been often seen eating sundown seed bread with a nut butter spread and sliced bananas while going over paperwork or her magic studies.
