Steelsoul

The Steelsoul are a race that were born as a result of experiments with supraplanar energies and mechanical engineering. They are living beings made partially of nonorganic material such as metal, mixed with organic materials such as wood or hardened plant matter. Very few Steelsouls have flesh and blood, instead running off of some form of self-sustaining magic.   Initially, the discovery of Steelsouls was a revolutionary concept- Sentient creatures capable of performing tasks as though they were human servants, made for a very lucrative possibility. Steelsouls were sold as a commodity, capable of serving their masters to the word, and making their own decisions and having personality.   A few years after their creation, however, Steelsouls began to realize that this form of treatment was mistreatment, and they were being treated unfairly, in comparison to other races. Where other races referred to this way of life as a commodity as slavery, for Steelsouls, it was simply business.
