I just had my first ever therapy session of my life.   I didn't realize I needed therapy until this last year or so. It's interesting to try to gage exactly how much Corona and 2020 will change how the world lives, thinks, hopes, works, and believes. Like looking back on the plague or the 1916 flu, we will gather facts and data after a certain period of time has passed and attempt to extrapolate from from those facts, what changed, what remain changed, what effects were solely due to the pandemic and so on. Books will be written. Nuance will be gained and shared.   For now, we can only speculate on what history books have to tell us about the consequences of Covid 19 and 2020. Will it have changed the world forever? We can compare similar events in history but we can still only make guesses. However, one salient fact is already burned into our memories and lives forever; the deaths of millions upon millions of earth's citizens.   We can theorize quite legitimately that 2020 affected our psychological and physiological well being. While half of the population went into isolation, the other half continued to work but with hugely increased workloads and stress. In a century, will history have discovered that those in isolation had a very different 2020 than those who had to work 60 and 70 hours a week? And what about health care workers? How will their 2020 be described and defined?   Will those who were isolated at home have a different sort of social relationship with people who worked outside the home? How we relate to each other?   The more I learn about the world's humans and the world's history in general, the more obvious it becomes that everything is cyclical. In 1916, a great deal was learned about the flu that killed millions. The world had learned something and intended to make the information useful. But a century is a long time for an animal that lives only 3 quarters of a century or so. It's so easy to forget. And that's where some of the most terrible mistakes were made. in 2020.   Our personal experiences of 2020 will be very anecdotal and varied. I was in isolation. The first month or so felt very oppressive. I wasn't used to even appreciating my freedom to get up and go somewhere on a whim. I went through a period where I felt confident that the pandemic couldn't possibly go on for more than a couple of months. I had forgotten 1916 you see. Even though it had only been a year or two that I read a book about the 1916 influenza pandemic. When I started remembering the information from the book I read, I worried that the pandemic would last more than just a year. I remembered that the 1916 flu went around the world killing so many young people and then went around the world a second time.   Later, with 2020 vision and a bit of knowledge of human behavior it's easy to understand that young people were dying by the thousands every day because young healthy people were exposed. Millions of young men across the world lived in close quarters as they prepared to kill each other. Less was known then about how easily germs spread. Older people would have been more likely to stay home in 1916. There were no bowling leagues or cooking classes to encourage older adults to get out of the house.   In 2020, we had the ability to gather information and disseminate information in nearly real time. The country now had television and communications networks that allowed information to be deliver in less than a second.   Because of the lack of information and the means to distribute it in 1916, young people didn't know they risked dying by exposing themselves when in large groups and gatherings. But we learned from that. Germs spread with terrifyingly efficacy. We learned from the last great pandemic, the one that killed millions of young people, that the greatest threat to health and life was sharing space with other people. Germs spread as effectively as rumors on Facebook. We knew that because of the great flu epidemic/pandemic of 1916. We would know the next time around what to do.   But knowledge isn't everything. 2020 should have been handled so much better. The United States had a chief executive officer who was unwilling to regard factual advice from experts on the subject of disease and how it spreads as important information that might help the American public. The President had the means to ensure that the American people were given the best information on the subject in order to make informed choices.   When President Trump dismissed the Corona virus as a hoax, people turned to social media for information. Facebook was created as a way for people to stay in touch but quickly became a platform for extremist groups who could get no traction in any other way, and of course to fuel advertising resulting in profits.   In 2020 the anti-vaccination fringe group fared way way better than the CDC, WHO, and the average American. It recruited hundreds of thousands of people to a cause based on a single flawed report by a single person suggesting that vaccinations might cause autism. The response to that one report was alarm and parents were concerned and needed information, factual information. And they received it. The single report that suggested a possible correlation between vaccinations and autism was quickly disproven and in fact, the claimant was investigated and it was discovered he had falsified information. It was the perfect fuel to stoke the imagination of ardent conspiracy theorists though. And even without a platform, they gathered other strange fringe groups to their cause. The anti-vaccine movement was born. It has continued to pose problems for populations across the world. Diseases that have cures are preventative. Suddenly children in Africa had the measles a disease completely preventable. And that was only the beginning.   Though the single falsified claim was proven to be false a hundred times over, there is nothing more thrilling than a conspiracy theory to a certain outlier of Americans who value their free will, liberty and rights over common sense, health, and the welfare of all. These are the people who believe their personal rights supersede other peoples' personal rights. They tend to think that being ordered to wear a mask is an affront to their personal liberty. The type who it would never occur to to wonder if any other citizen's rights matter because they are so consumed with paranoia that someone might trample on their individual right though their individual rights might prove to kill other people. They are proud. They are the stereotypical proud and patriotic American citizen who believes their personal rights were hand delivered by God and God is an American!   Our president, a man who had been the butt of jokes for decades had the opportunity to prove he could be a leader of the wealthiest nation on the planet. He had the opportunity to show that he was capable of handling a crisis that threatened the nation. Even the most skeptical among us hoped he would do just that. We now know that he didn't have the resources to face the impending crisis that would cost millions of Americans their right to live. He had placed his faith and his bets that America wouldn't notice if he took the resources from the best biological defense system in the world to build his godamned stupid wall.   Trump couldn't admit his gaffe. It was huge. His ego couldn't bear that burden so instead he told the American public that the virus was a hoax and went about business as usual. Meanwhile, millions of people were dying by the day.   It had been so so easy to cripple our best biological defense system without informing the public. Journalism was dead so who was going to notice that he had done such a fool thing? People didn't put two and two together right away. Some of us wondered why the blank eyed victim like head of the CDC seemed so vacuous. By the time we understood we had no biological defense system in the United States, we were so invested in fighting the virus and those who didn't mind risking our right to live in order to implent their right to ignore the law by not wearing a mask. Trump had quietly busted our biological defense system in exchange for the resources he needed to fulfill his racist promise to his racist voters that he would build a godforsaken wall between our country's borders and Mexico. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he came up with that idea on a whim. He is a blowhard. A showman, the P.T. Barnum of the 21st century except far more dangerous. The promise that should have ended any chance the man had at becoming president when he so obviously expressed extreme and blatant racism that would result in the separation of families, something that harkens back to slavery and puts a thrill in the middle of the ardent racist's chest. He had promised his racist agenda to his racist voters and by god, he would deliver on his promise. One can only imagine him choosing which safety nets to abolish in order to build that stupid goddamned wall. Maybe he made a spinning wheel with agencies that regulate the amount of pollution that industries can force on citizens who must breathe. I bet the EPA was on that wheel of misfortune. I'm sure there are countless others that will come to light eventually. It's likely he never imagined anybody would know what he had done because journalism was dead and there was no longer anyone to report actual news and information.   Because there was no big reveal, no expose of how our president had robbed us of our security and safety, the information was only slowly pieced together. The CDC had been robbed and could no longer battle the pandemic they knew would come eventually.   They worked without tools and without hope. And none of us knew that our protection from biological threat was extinct. For the life of me, I still don't understand how his promise to build a wall would appealed to his fan base, his most loyal and fervent fans but it did and so that's why we had no defensive response to Covid-19 while smaller less resourced nations were making discoveries and breakthroughs as the world watched and waited for the most powerful nation to step in and start getting things done to combat the pandemic. Other nations recognized that America was defenseless way before citizens did. It was with shocked disbelief that Americans had to concede that our president had failed us and we were no longer the most powerful and visionary wealthy nation in the world. We were a large wealthy nation with a spoiled child that the great American public elected to rule and lead. We had already recognized that China was soon going to surpass the U.S. in wealth, innovation, and power. It was just a matter of time. We had steadily shipped our industries along with the chance to innovate to other nations where workers could be paid 10 cents an hour and there would never be a viable threat of a union.   Workers in China may be paid a lot less for their industry but they have skilled labor. They still create things that people need and or want. The U.S. only has people skilled in consumerism and falling into poverty at an alarming pace as protections for the public has systematically been removed to allow corporate interests to continue destroying the planet without paying taxes for the trillions they earn every year. Who cares if the air becomes unbreathable. America's new superheroes, the Corporation has profited and that is all that matters to the Corporate owned government that pretends to represent the interests of actual humans. Banks are allowed to scam the poor into buying what they can't afford with loans that will never be paid off. If they get into a bit of trouble, they know the government they owns will bail them out while American's go into bankruptcy and a spinning downward spiral they will never recover from. Now that the U.S. has shipped all its industry overseas, the skilled labor force in America has dwindled, gone from prosperity and hope to working for Minimum wage as a service worker or if they're lucky, an unappreciated and tireless health care job. Even if we wanted to make things, we have forgotten how. We gave our knowledge away to benefit industry and industry has banded together to form the corporation that rules us.   Trump's election proved that American voters were fed up with the business as usual model of politician tasked with running the country. They yearned for something exciting, something different. Something new. The DNC still didn't learn the lesson that was so obvious to many defecting Democrats. The DNC would always place its money on the horse they considered "electable." They made sure Clinton was the Democratic candidate when Democrats clearly preferred Bernie Sanders. Sanders had a much better chance of winning. But the DNC is stale and run by traditionalists who think the world is the same as it was 70 years ago. Americans were begging for something different, something that was hopefully better as well. Plus, there was a certain surprisingly large sector of the citizenry that were outraged that a black man had lived in the White House and had controlled the country. That surprisingly large sector of racists had been quiet since the years of lynching people based on a single genetic variable that gave a particular tone to someone's skin. A single genetic variation that had proved advantageous for those living closest to the equator.   That surprisingly large sector of dangerous racists had learned to hide their racism. They didn't talk about it in public at least. Many of us who voted for Obama were naive in our assumptions that racism was dying out. But we learned. And suddenly there was a man those quiet racists could get behind. He didn't even bother to hide his racism. He didn't hide the fact that he judged women on appearance and accorded them secondary status as citizens and felt free to accost them. Suddenly the silenced hidden racists saw a messiah in their midst and his name was Trump. That cadre of hidden racists who felt so angry and betrayed that a black man had been allowed to set foot inside the nation's capitol much less rule the country, not just for one term but two, were energized with hope that their hatred could finally be appeased. Trump was one of them.   It didn't matter that Trump was no leader. It didn't matter that his only agenda was feeding his massive ego. He was a crackpot with a loud voice and a lot of power. He never admitted he might have possibly been mistaken in his assumption that the CDC didn't really do anything important. In fact, I'm convinced he never even talked about the CDC and how he had robbed us of their protection and defense against pandemics and any and all biological diseases. And he would distract us and show us he didn't think professional scientists were important by leaving the World Health Organization. The WHO made mistakes over the years, handing milk out to a starving African nation who had no tolerance for milk for instance. It served to make them more thoughtful and careful. They admitted their catastrophic mistake and continued with humbleness to work towards improving the lives of humans everywhere on the planet. The leader of the United States chose to do the opposite, pretending to prefer crackpot theories by survivalists over professional epidemiologists. He continued business as usual, pretending nothing was wrong. Pretending that millions of people dying was fake news.   Trump's expression of derision and smugness towards scientists, concerned citizens, physicians and the medical community at large effectively created a resigned public who began searching for help elsewhere. The average American knew they were being lied to or that their president was in denial of reality as they watched in horror the numbers of deaths grow. American voters were on their own as it became obvious that the good ship SS America was rudderless. Nobody was at the wheel. America was listing from side to side as the world watched and learned that no one was in charge in the United States. There was only a buffoon who distracted us from what was happening by insulting people on Twitter. We didn't have a leader to calm our fears or show concern who could or would take charge. There was only a giant ego who knew the virus was no hoax, but had to cover up his failure to protect the Americans by intimating the pandemic was a plot created to make America suffer and to make him look bad. It was appalling to watch an American president vacilate between his favorite answers; fake news, hoax, and worst of all, iinsidious plot by none other than the nation of China. When the man baby we elected to lead us finally had to acknowledge that millions of people had died and were still dying all around the world, it seemed at first that he chose to contend that none of that had anything to do with America.   When President Obama was elected, he was chastised for using a smart phone as the leader of the nation. Outraged opponents to the Democratic president called it a security risk and chastised the President for not caring about the security of the American public. When Trump managed to win the election, he made Twitter his bully pulpit and nobody complained except the victims of his vicious verbal abuse and slander. And he quietened them by calling them names.   No president before him had ever used social media or any private outlet for any reason but it was wit particularly spectacular bad grace that our leader chose to use Twitter as his platform to rant and rage. It had just been 8 years before that President Obama had been accused of risking American security by having a blackberry phone.   Trump was like an old fable, an allegory and a farce rolled into one. He couldn't control corporate media, as hard as he tried so he fought petty battles on Twitter and continued to spread misinformation about the deadly pandemic that real life Americans were dealing with. We had no leader but we had plenty of heroes. Nurses, doctors, and other medical care professionals risked their lives to tend to the dying millions while Trump insulted a variety of world leaders. Minimum wage workers continued to work in order to ensure the public could buy food and survive. They were heroes as well.   One has to wonder about the strange motley crew of racists who made up his fan club. Four years ago, they might have cared that somebody cheated people out of their money but their strange new messiah was so adored for his racist agenda, that nothing he did mattered to them. Finally they might return to the good old days when the country was in the hands of white males, the way it should be. They didn't care they had cheated people like them. They didn't care that he lied through ius teeth and was little more than a scam artist who used people, stole from them and did so blatantly. They didn't care that he molested women and boasted of it. They didn't care that he was a peeping Tom. Who were these people before? How had they hidden their hatred so well?   During the worst pandemic in living memory, Trump, ostensible leader of the United States, and western world, chose to act like a recalcitrant child, petty, boastful, and thoughtless. He first insisted the deadly virus was a hoax. He hoodwinked the American people into believing that he genuinely thought the death of millions was a hoax. He distracted and diluted, had temper tantrums and bullied on Twitter. He knew there was an epidemic. But he didn't want people to realize that he had closed the country's best defenses, our best chance at saving lives so he advised people who were that worried over nothing to drink poison. And they did. And it killed them. It killed his fanatical worshipers and that was okay too. As long as their new messiah would continue with his racist agenda, he could do anything at all and they would support him.   Instead of advising Americans to be cautious and take steps to protect themselves and their families, by heeding the advice of such whackos as professional epidemiogists Trump cavalierly chose to divert the citizenry from his disastrous non-leadership by blaming China for the pandemic. He routinely blamed the entire pandemic on China. The ignorance of the man is almost as astounding as his arrogance.   As a direct result of the man baby in charge of the most powerful nation in the world blaming China for the pandemic, a number of anti-Asian hate groups sprang up where they had not existed before. The number of hate crimes enacted against Asian Americans grows as I write. Those hate crimes were committed against innocent American citizens was instigated by Trump's statement that blamed China for everything.   The problem is not just that he broke laws which in itself should have informed the nation that their leader was a criminal and unfit to hold office at any level. He encouraged other people to break laws that included outright treason, a capital offense, and outright murder with intent. Sulking that he hadn't bamboozled America into believing he had been a victim of devious wild-eyed liberals who threw the election by some how cheating in some nefarious and unexplained nebulous way, oh plus the postal service of course, he appealed to his his fan club, and his cult of racist followers acted on his appeal. The racist band of what appeared to be average people acted. They tried to overthrow the U.S. government. They would have killed the U.S. vice-president but secret service agents guarding the VP had more sense than the people they were sworn to protect and got Pence away from the capitol just moments before chaos erupted. Trump's gangsters broke down the doors to the most hallowed halls where laws were made, repaled, and passed as if they were rowdy teenagers breaking into a locked McDonald's bathroom after a small town prom. They bullied and terrorized innocent clerical workers and aids as well as U.S. Congressmen. They murdered three people. Their beloved peeping Tom racist had spoken and like the good gangster racists they were, they acted.   So enamored of him, his followers, like submissive cult followers, would have 'drunk the Kool aid' for him, and in fact, they did. When he encouraged the overthrow of the US government, they attempted to overthrow the U.S. government in an appalling live display that the whole world watched as Trump's bully brigade acted for him. People died. The nation and the rest of the world watched the unfolding of a nightmare on live networks and wondered if democracy was dead in America. Did the Constitution no longer matter in the United States? It was clear that the so recently formed Republic that was based on the Roman Republic would follow in the footsteps only much sooner than had been hoped for. Rome burned.   Trump's command over his irrational and dangerous troops of true believers were willing to murder people for him. They wanted to place him on a farcical throne symbolic of their deep unreasonable love for hatred and violence so that he could become a permanent president, further shredding the intent of the Constitution. They didn't mind having a dictator as long as he continued to act on the hatred they felt for people who didn't look like them. Interviewed by news readers, one of those people claimed to be "Constitutionalist" as if they held the Constitution sacred as they tried to end it. They were willing to give up freedom for the secure knowledge that their racist hatred would continue to be a focal point of the new Fascist America led by its new Dictator, Trump. The speed with which the United States, land of the free came a hairs breath away from fascism alarmed even the most disinterested citizen. Trump had become so powerful over his flock of supplicants that he convinced them in a few short words to storm the Capitol building, shoot and kill people as necessary, in order to interrupt the counting of the votes in the House chambers where his Vice-President would be in attendance as law and tradition dictates. They could kill two birds with one stone; interrupt the electoral process and assassinate an enemy of the dictator to be, Donald J. Trump.   Trump's entire term in office was like watching a side show carnival from the 1920s. It was like looking at the 2 headed cow, the fighting bears, the bearded lady, the three eyed snake, in essence, we watched the freak show and despite being disturbed, we couldn't look away. We had a major crisis on our hands, killing millions of Americans and the carnival continued with the show as if the deaths of so many people didn't matter. Of course, the Ego in the White House couldn't both deny the problem and advise the nation on what to do about the crisis that didn't really exist so he diverted the public's attention. Instead of aiding the heroes who were battling on the front lines he cavalierly blamed China for the virus and the deaths of millions of citizens of not only his own country but of China and the rest of the world as well.   I am still puzzled as to how the lunatic elected to President a little over four years ago, along with a fan club of dark craven racist hatred while breaking US laws, attempting to overthrow the US government to support a new dictatorship in a new Fascist America could have so much influence over the Republican party's elected representatives. The political party that convinced the nation they were the responsible adults in charge, while Democrats were just idealistic teenagers. The Republican members of the US House and Senate elected by US citizens to represent them refused to condemn murder, violence, hatred, and treason against the United States of America. They willingly stripped their collective cloaks of seemingly responsible adults to pander to a man without a conscience. They surrendered their mantle of legitimacy in order to pad votes in the next election because the new American government is a body of people elected in good faith by American citizens to represent their interests but whose only agenda is to keep getting elected.   Our former president, Donald Trump, is a cold blooded murderer. It doesn't matter that he didn't do it with his bare hands. He told his wild-eyed fans to kill people and they did. He even told some of them to kill themselves and they did. He told them not to wear masks and that the virus was a hoax and killed more people. He failed to serve and protect American citizens and American interests. I add treason to the charge of murder. I posit that Donald Trump is a mass murderer by proxy. He should be sitting on death row. Instead he is pouting and encouraging his rag tag band of hate mongers to hate even more.   Like any good fascist, Trump compelled his loyal fan club to do the dirty work. That doesn't free him from being responsible for the murders and violence enacted in his name. Donald Trump, as a citizen of the United States is subject to the laws created as laws are intended for all Americans to comply with. He should be subject to the very laws he was elected to uphold and indeed, protect. He flaunted his power, believing he could get away with murder and he did. He flaunted the Constitution he swore an oath to uphold, committing treason with a half baked scheme to make him a dictator for life. He should be tried for murder and treason. There is no way to calculate the numbers of Americans who died because the President thought it was more important to lambast and insult his enemies by twitter than it was for him to lead the nation in an effort to fight the disease that left so many Americans dead. Those Americans deserved better. They deserved a leader who would fight for them. But that was the problem. Trump never cared about America or its citizens. His contempt of the people he swore to defend and protect, along with his contempt of world leaders, his dismissal of the coming catastrophe from climate change, and an attempt to overthrow his own government was short term when you look at the larger picture. But the results from his treason will likely be seen in history as the vital moment in the demise of America's power and legitimacy. He actually believed he could become a dictator in a new fascist America with the help of his sordid cadre racists who had just been biding their time since the Civil Rights movement.   The elected GOP representatives who refuse to condemn the murderous, treasonous Donald Trump condone the attempt to overthrow the government. They condone murder. They should be removed from office without preamble. The fact that they continue to represent America's interests in our capitol points to the death of democracy if in fact, there is any left.   The U.S. will never fully recover from the acts perpetuated by Donald Trump. It's ironic; if Richard Nixon were alive today, today's Republican party would call him a liberal. If Reagan were alive today and trying to serve the American people by destroying all of their safety nets like labor laws and safety regulations, they would insult him on twitter and denounce his legitimacy.   During the cold war, Americans learned that the Russians had been duped into voting for their own oppression by means of an organization that spread rumors and hid the truth, while purporting to impart information; a newspaper that the U.S. denounced and openly expressed revulsion and condemnation of, a newspaper named Pravda that ironically translates to Truth. Baby boomers grew up listening to Walter Cronkite talk about the insidiousness of state propaganda that helped form a Socialist government.   It was the Cold War and young activist baby boomers were indignant with the injustice of a government lying to its people. They pointed to the United States as model to be emulated, a free country that offered equality and justice for all. Young Americans were served patriotism on a desert plate using Russia's use of propaganda disguised as news to support the claim that America was the greatest country in the world, a democracy where freedom was allowed to ring.   60 years later, we see many of those indignant young Americans, many of whom marched in protest during the Vietnam War as was their God given American right, tuning in now, to 24 hour television 7 days a week, broadcasts that brand their propaganda as news. They tuned in and they dropped out. They dropped out of the battle to see America prosper with equality and be told the truth by their own government. They watch corporate media without reserve. Corporate propaganda won the day for America's new Super Heroes, the Corporate Class. The class made up of about 4 or 5 people that own most of America and refuse to share. The corporation is everything. It is America's royalty. It is the new feudal system that allows a few people to hoard what could provide every single American citizen with food, shelter, a modicum of security, education and support in retirement. They own all the information and impart to the citizens the wisdom that they deserve to sit on their unused resources that could feed and shelter every American for a lifetime. For they are America's super heroes. They worked with diligence to monopolize the resources of all. Owning the networks that ostensibly inform the American consumer is a very efficient way to steal from the undereducated, poorly paid, overworked American masses. The new American super heroes rob the poor to increase the pile of grotesque wasted wealth and convince the poor that it is they, the poor who should pay the onus, whose burden it is to support the superheroes by paying taxes while the bloated Superheroes are free from duty or diligence or humanity.   It was in Nixon's White House that the plot was hatched to create an American Pravda, an American propaganda that would lead gullible patriotic and free Americans to buy into their own oppression by voting against their own best interests. It was the brainchild of a young Roger Ailes. And it was far more successful than Pravda had ever been at convincing the voting public to vote against themselves. Journalism is dead. If the corporation didn't own information, you would have heard the words "net neutrality" uttered on the so-called liberal 'news' networks. If we still had access to information instead of the opinion of the new American Superhero, the corporation, we would understand that America is no longer free. Indeed, the only citizen of America that is free is the nameless faceless Corporation Superhero Citizen. If you believe any of the corporate owned propaganda media has your best interests as a goal ask yourself why Rachel Maddow and the other so called liberals never referred to net neutrality when it was to go before the chopping block in our nation's capital.   This is America. The truth is dead and nothing is free. The new superhero sees a wild card upstart like Netflix threaten their monopoly on American broadcast media and pretend acceptance and complacency while buying up, bit by bit, all digital media and the rights to that media so that if you were to want to watch a movie from the 1940s that used to play on network television every Christmas, a movie such as "It's a Wonderful Life," you would discover that you could certainly watch that old classic. For a fee. And found in only one place; Amazon. Owned by America's most famous superhero of all, Jeff Bezos, richest man in not just the town, but in the world, ensuring that American consumers' only have one place to buy their books, their entertainment, dog food, and every retail item known to consumerism, Amazon now represents the monopoly on wealth, controls information, and consumers don't even realize they have let slip the ideals of a young country trying to form a more perfect union and establish equality and justice for all (except those who only have 2/3 of a vote or who are female, etcetera).   Today, we are aware that minimum wages have only increased at a small fraction while the increase to the cost of living has soared spectacularly. Some of us are brave enough to demand that minimum wage be livable wages, wages that allow the American worker fair pay, wages that will allow Americans to be have access to shelter, an assurance of food, access to health care, education and a retirement that they paid into. But the corporate propaganda informs us that it's outrageous for the worker to expect so much from its Superheroes.   The middle class has been shrinking for decades and it is now shrinking at an alarming rate. When will hardworking Americans demand living wages for the work they do? When will American consumers demand fair competition so they can afford to watch "It's a Wonderful Life?" When will American consumers believe that the richest nation in the world has the means to give every single citizen food, shelter, education, and health care? And that it should. When will Americans understand they deserve a fair wage, a fair choice, safety nets? When will Americans demand that the onus of the tax burden be taken off the backs of the growing poverty class and put back where it should be, on the backs of the new American hero, the corporation. That giant invisible power that has invaded every corner of our lives and rules our destiny and creates our own government representatives, owning them and therefore the ability to pass laws that ensure they continue to pay no taxes and rob from the poor.   This is America. Our superheroes are the corporation and this is the new era of feudalism. We have returned to an era where our only choice is to buy from the company store on credit so that we will be in debt forever. But that's okay, America has a new Superhero and it's the Corporate state, free markets, the new religion, while we suck up the propaganda that laws protecting us from the Superheroes should be overturned. We smile as we nod our heads at the pretty shiny people on our favorite corporate propaganda channel telling us it was our god given rights as Americans to demand that minimum wage laws be repealed, that safety regulations guarding workers must be repealed because Americans deserve their rights.   And all the while, in the background, churns the subversive warped tune from Christian Capitalism preaching the word; it's okay for consumers and workers to suffer, they will get their reward in heaven. It's okay to ignore the teachings of Christ who told us to give all our worldly belongings away, that it is wrong to amass wealth, that greed is a sin, to love one's neighbor, to turn the other cheek, and to show mercy. None of that is important anymore because we have a new Jesus with new teachings and the new Jesus, the baby Trump, a symbol of the new American superhero, the corporation, shouts and roils with hatred and says we should condemn, blame, and hate freely, it's okay to murder your neighbor, to steal, lie and defile the innocent. The new Jesus says it's okay to commit murder in his name. The new baby Jesus Trumps says you're weak if you turn your cheek, laws and morals are fake news. Go forth and kill in his name. Welcome to the new America!
