The Cleaving at Cleeved

The crew was recovering at the Hypnotic Marigold when Mantis suggested he part ways with the rest of the group and take Baeloknecht on a journey to find information (and maybe a god for Mantis). The crew was approached by Dragonborn librarian, Pelk (with tiny specks on her snout) and each was offered 500 gp to neutralize a threat against crabfarming frogfolk known as the Grippli. Pelk’s half orc companion, Mitor Jans, offers to take them there by trading ship. Manny proposed the crew find a temporary replacement for him and the group proceeded to interview four potential adventurers, finally landing on the charmingly dumb dwarf barbarian, Umdir Silverstone. Before heading out on their adventure, the crew investigated a book left by Pelk. After figuring out how to read the text, it was found to be a three-part story about the Grippli as lucrative crab hunters, attacked by snakefolk. The final story described a vacant village and temple taken over by snakefolk. We join the new crew on Mitor Jan’s ship, The Dog Ear, headed northward toward the grippli village.
