Personal history
The first thing to note about Athena is that she is a woman out of time. She was born in a small town, and eventually joined a prestigious magical academy, before graduating and becoming an adventurer, seeking the last grand wonders of the age. She then eventually joined the Order of the Undying Serpent. A few years after joining the Order the war between Mortals and Gods began, eventually ending in a Pyrrhic Victory, with the death of the gods and rifts between the Material Plane and the Realm of Endless Water emerging over the globe. Having done their part to seal the rifts and to pass the technique on to other the Order then retreated to their individual sanctums, a froze themselves in time to one day reemerge. The years pass, turning to decades, centuries, millennia before the crystalline spell work that sealed her in timeless sleep was undone. Now she awakens to a world unknown, unfamiliar and alone.
